"Absolutely would recommend this place. Check in information was great and very easy. We were travelling by bike and they let us access the secure bike storage early so we could enjoy the town without worrying about them. The room was spacious and spotless and the shower was brilliant. Hamish from housekeeping was very friendly and kind to our daughter as we were leaving. Breakfast in the cafe downstairs was very nice too. Great view of the canal locks and close to all the amenities of Fort Augustus. And run by Scottish Canals, a charity. Nothing bad to say about this place!"

"Bedroom was spotless, bathroom too. We had family room which had 1 x double and 2 single beds. All comfy, with spare pillows and blankets available in room. Plenty towels for each of us and non slip shower mat available in bathroom. All staff we encountered at reception and breakfast were lovely and very helpful. Great breakfast, choice of cereals, porridge, juice, and cooked options, tea and coffee. It's not fancy, it is a good price for what you get and I'd be happy to stay here again."

"First off, this is not a hotel, it's lots of apartments. There are no onsite Highland Club restaurants, room service food or anything like it. The apartments are full on, proper homes with kitchens so bring some food, even if it's just basic stuff. For food shopping and eateries you can walk into the town in a few minutes and get something to eat. The pub (The Lock Inn) was pretty good. There is a restaurant in the grounds of the house which provided food which was edible but you wouldn't rush back in a hurry. As for the Highland Club, it's beautiful. Everything was built and is maintained to the highest standard. The pool is warm and clean. The grounds of the property are extensive and beautiful. The Internet is fast and reliable, the onsite staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. So, if you're looking for a traditional hotel, think twice before booking. If you're wanting to stay somewhere with all the historical character combined with comfort and cleanliness then do book."
