Trent and Mersey Canal near Findern, Derbyshire The canal takes a fairly straight course here through the flat farm lands on the Trent Valley bottom east of the Buckford bridges. The railway line between Stoke (or Burton) and Derby runs to the right of the picture less than thirty metres behind the trees.

Hotel was nice and welcome was good. I was rudely awaken at 5am in my room from the sound of deliveries and recycling glass bottles which is awful considering the reason we use hotels is to sleep. It has completely ruined my day with work due to tiredness I am now facing. Not one at all
