Pleasant area. Nice reception area as I spent a good 20 minutes awaiting for service. Not much of in room entertainment. Table lamps available but with no sockets to plug into

The room was depressing due mainly to the dark brown curtains and large, overpowering red wall. The room is too small for those. The lighting was strange. Side table lamps (perhaps with shades) are needed. The bathroom really needs some TLC! Time to renew the bath, taps and shower door bottom seal. That was really not nice! On leaving, the open door to the room next door showed a much brighter room with a bay window. Perhaps we were just unlucky with room 26?

Very friendly budget hotel , did what it said in the tin , for the price really can’t complain! Only marked down on facilities and condition as it was a bit run down in places but perfect for what we needed.

The lady running the front desk and cooking the breakfast was brilliant. She woke up early to cook my breakfast and It was delicious. You dont see friendly personable service like that at larger hotel chains.

We arrived for a 2 night stay and was immediately told that the heating was not working. We were given an oil radiator. The bathroom had a dirty cleaning cloth left in sink. Next morning there was no hot water. The blinds were broken, so as soon as it was dark, we had to pull the curtains. The window sill, which was in a bay, had paint peeling off it. On our departure morning we ran the water in the bathroom and after 15 minutes, managed some hot water. Whilst having breakfast in the conservatory, the roof was leaking in several places. Although the staff were helpful and friendly, it seems that the rooms could benefit from some maintenance and updating.

This is an ageing property with dated decor. The reception staff were excellent. There was no heating in our room and no hot water for evening or next morning. No shower as a result. We were told that this was due to a defective boiler. This information only received after a specific question to reception. It should have been an upfront apology.

Hello RogerThank you for you review. We are so sorry that your stay was affected by the sudden breakdown with the hotel boiler. We are sorry that you were not informed as you felt you should have been, but we did inform all guests as soon as possible once we realised the situation and took remedial action to improve the situation so that guest bedrooms were provided with electric radiators and the emersion system was turned on, but this provides limited hot water. We appreciate and thank you for your understanding in this matter which was beyond our control.

The checkin was ok but we were somewhat taken aback when we were told they didnt service the rooms on a daily basis. Thought this only happened during Covid restrictions.!! We did ask to get towels changed and the bin emptied and the tea tray refreshed. Very poor customer service so we didnt have breakfast there. On the positive side the hotel is near the railway station and is a short walk away from Fareham town centre

Worse night sleep in years!
Stayed here before and was impressed, however this occasion was awful. Bedding cheap linen used, bed very uncomfortable, bathroom dirty with black mold on tiles, grout missing in floor tiles. Dead flies within lamp shade covers. Breakfast although cooked sausages cheap tasting, mushrooms over cooked and price of room certainly not worth the stay.

I arrived later than 11pm due to my flight into UK arriving late. The receptionist was very friendly and pleasant and showed me to my room. The room was clean and very pleasant to sleep in. The breakfast was delicious and the conservatory is a nice area to eat in. Although check out is meant to be no later than 10 am the staff allowed me to stay longer as they were not ready to clean my room. As I was going to get new car just after 12 midday. This was greatly appreciated as I had 3 heavy bags. I would definitely stay here again.

It was good to be greeted by name and be asked what we needed. Our room was small but fully equipped. The hotel was easy to find and very handy for the early morning ferry from Portsmouth.

Very good
The bathroom was dated with no shelf space next to the basin. The shower and towels were excellent. The cooked breakfasts were very good and served quickly. Staff were friendly and helpful.
