I booked a balcony as i was celebrating my anniversay. Planned romantic champagne etc set up on balcony. Got there and was given a ground floor room. Ruined my plans. Very disappointed!

The dust under the bed was the worst I’ve ever seen. I have pictures. A full refund was granted but we have to ask Expedia to reimburse us direct. Please send me a link for this

Nice modern interior, great for a stopover before cruuse. Only small criticism, the bed was a normal double. Seems small wgen used to hotels (and home) with king size beds.

It was a lovely area very rural! The room was clean and perfectly equipped! Only down side was the bed was only a standard double and when you are used to a king it was very cosy The huge plus side to this is the staff they were lovely and couldn’t do more for you!

Lovely room, enjoyable short stay
Stayed for one night, very clean, comfortable stylish room. It was very convenient for the Whiteley Shopping Centre. The layout of the room was practical with some nice features including the heated bathroom mirror. The only problem we had was it was too hot at night, and could not reduce the heating sufficiently. The shower was very good, although from an economical point of view used alot of water. We would be happy to stay here again.

Comfortable and friendly.
Had an overnight work stay - was able to check in just after 3pm but didn’t get to return to the hotel until around 3am (hence the check in earlier). Great facilities and helpful team as per previous visits.

Great stay but only showers in room.
A trip to visit family nearby. I know the hotel and sister hotel across the car park very well, having lived and stayed in the area for many years and so a go to hotel if you want a clean, fresh and comfortable room. We had to wait to be checked in as staff not available at first ( a little disappointing after a long journey.!) but eventually booked in without issue. It’s a Staff free hotel but easily navigated and they are on call next door in pub if needed. We would return and use hotel more but it only has showers and no bath. Any longer than a 1 night stay my wife would insist on a room with a bath. So we use sister hotel across car park more. But very good stay for 1 night or for one on business.

Comparable to a premier inn. Very quiet room. Shower powerful and great massage function. Good to channels. Nice to have a kettle as could use my own tea bag. Nice choc cookie too. Tired looking, stains on the carpet and chairs didn’t want to sit on them . very basic bathroom only cheap handwash and shower gel but took my own. Bed quite soft but ok. Sheets clean. Fine for 1 night but wouldn’t want to stay longer. Only chose this hotel as I needed to be close by and didn’t need breakfast.

Disappointing stay.
Service and food is good. Rooms are not cleaned properly. Rugs stained and dirty. Very basic soap and bathroom had a dirty coffee mug in it. Toilet roll holder falling off. Rooms very basic.

Very well located just off the M27. Lots of parking, I stayed in the "Lodge" part rather than the main hotel. The Lodge is brand new, fantastic standard, very quiet, comfortable, great walk in shower, lovely bathroom, magnificent bed, smart TV.... just fantastic. The Bar staff at the bar downstairs which they call Parsons Collar were lovely, helpful and friendly. I would NOT pay to have breakfast there again, a server who doesnt know how long to microwave pastries for, doesnt know how to make a cappuchino, but worse of all, a rude and unhelpful young woman as Maitre'd who makes customers wait outside in the wind and rain until she decides is time to open up. This person put the A in Attitude... she has no concept that residents might have places to go to, so of course she lets the other lady struggle on her own, whilst polishing bar glasses... Totally he wrong person in the wrong front of house job. Loading dishwashers in the back is her optimal job

good spot, a little far from everything, but I was aware of this and definitely aimed at kids (advertised this way so that's no surprise) Heated towel hanger was really cool, the food was fine. small complaint had a one shop stop bodywash/shampoo mixuture which is never great

The Lodge is the cheaper option at Solent, but is good value for money and perfectly adequate for a 1 night stay, before a ferry to France. The room was clean and well appointed, although the carpet was a bit grubby. Check-in was easy and the restaurant is right next to the Lodge. This is a very busy double hotel complex and so car parking is sometimes a bit challenging.

Not my normal experience.
I have stayed at the hotel many of times and have always been satisfied with my stay, but have to say this time was disappointing due to the showerhead filled with scale and the bed, had two single beds pushed together, so you can imagine the number of times, I was slipping through the middle. When reporting the scale on the showerhead to the reception, due to the time reported they were unable to attend straightaway, however it was reported to the cleaners to attend to the issue the following morning.

We have stayed here twice for two nights each time, we appreciated the convenience for the location. We were disappointed, both times, by the staff and especially the service in the restaurant and pub, especially on our second stay - the service was lackluster, some of the staff were clearly not trained (such as applying the hotel discount to the meal), and in one particular case one of the young ladies was particularly rude to us as well as other diners. We would probably look at other options close by before we would stay here again.

We stayed here one night before we went on a cruise. The facility and room was comfortable. The air conditioning didn't work all that well, but you can open the windows and it was cool out. The housekeeping staff wasn't that friendly, but the staff in the restaurant was above and beyond.

Really lovely place!
Check in was easy and everyone was so polite. The room was very clean and tidy and very comfortable bed. Didn’t have a single issue while we were there, and the breakfast in the morning was great. Only note I’d have is that there isn’t a vegan hot breakfast option, had to get the veggie one and remove the egg and hash browns, so would be nice to offer a hot vegan option! Other than that, can’t fault the place, everything was wonderful.
