It's a basic room for a good price in the center of town. From booking it wasn't apparent that the accommodations were for two twin beds. The pub/restaurant is nice and just downstairs. There's no common area or parlor.

Rooms were clean and nice hot shower. Food was excellent, great breakfast. Staff was very friendly and obliging. Only problem was stairs to rooms (spiral staircase and hard for old folk to traverse.) On the whole a great place at a reasonable price

Room was in the attic of a house two blocks from the actual hotel / restaurant building. Low ceilings om either side of the room so we kept bumping our heads. Someone else's toenails were in the carpet by the bed. Weird closets being used for storage of vaccume cleaner and other things. Shower faucet drippy. No soap in bathroom. Front door to house tricky to lock. Shared kitchen with dirty cutlery and plates in drawers / cupboards. Rusty pots and pans. No recyling.

Hi, I was given accomodation in room 2 which was a party room converted to a bedroom. 3 beds , but all were suboptimal at best. Shower was most disappointing, with no hot water controls working. Almost got badly burnt and had to miss my shower after being soaped up.

A very friendly welcome from Mark. He took our bags and sat us down with a drink as we were two weary pensioner cyclists. He changed our room to a room further along the corridor that was more spacious and further away from noise from a private function. He was very attentive to our needs and made our stay very welcoming

Place was ok, pretty basic, and we slept ok. The room seemed to shake when trucks drove past, one of the guests had yappy dogs (guess the hotel is dog friendly)

Staff and food were excellent. Great bar, dinner and breakfast. Windows on room were double glazed but made no difference regards traffic noise whether open or closed. Busy road with traffic throughout the night.

Staff super friendly and helpful. Hotel right above a pub so food is close.(I did not eat there) Very, very basic hotel so I was surprised to pay $100 a night. However perhaps there are the prices and standards to expect in this part of Scotland.

We stayed in the annex which is a 5 minute walk along the main road and an attic in a residential street. It was private, quiet and a nice property. However we only arrived to one towel, so we had to walk back along to the hotel/ bar and request more. We were given the towels to walk back along with. We then discovered there was no hairdryer. There is also no where to keep things or no way to hang other than coat hooks on the back of the door. We had to use the radiator to store the towels. Shower dripped and the linen could do with a serious upgrade. One towel was so worn down it was white in the centre (originally light blue). We were woken by housekeeping at 9.20am on Sunday morning banging and shouting. She inquired as to when we were leaving. When I said check out she seemed confused that I would want to leave at 11am and then said she would come back later. It was very odd. Overall, good location but needs upgrading and more thought put into the annex when it is not easy for guests to contact the main reception( the bar).

I was travelling for work. When I arrived I had to go through a very busy bar with my luggage and stand at the bar counter to wait to be attended. This was intimidating as I had to push my way through and I wasn't dressed for a night out. My room was directly opposite a function room with a very loud party going on. The noise was so loud I felt as though I was in the party. When shown to the room the staff member told me it would be going on until 11pm. At 11.20 I rang the hotel from my room and was told it finished 11.30 and there was nothing he could do about it now. At about 10.30 one of the revellers was braying on my room door yelling mam let me in. I told her i was not her mam but she took no notice. After several attempts i screamed at her and she eventually went away. After the party there was the noise of the staff clearing up and the noise from the live singer downstairs was booming through my room until well after midnight. The bedding and towels were wishy washy and stained. The towels were very small. The shower was a trickle. I was very annoyed by all of this and do think the noise in particular should be highlighted on your site. I am not from the area so didn't have a clue. Very disappointing and exhausting after a long days travel and work.

The hotel is very adequate for an overnight stay. Tea/coffee was abundant and the bed very cosy. Window slightly damaged allowing cold air in but radiators lovely and hot. Our only negative point was housekeeping knocking on the door at 8 on Saturday morning, we were checking out at 11 so this was not necessary and a bit annoying. Overall a lovely budget stay.

Single room clean but basic. Depending on the location of the room it can be quite noisy with road traffic. Staff were very helpful and I only stayed one night so cannot comment if wishing to have longer stay.

This is a stay of two halves: the excellent bar and bistro, and the 'hotel'. The former is really good. The burger was top notch, the selection of beers was great and the staff were pleasant and helpful. I'd eat here again in a heartbeat. The overnight stay was not good at all, though. Based in a converted house several streets away, my room and private bathroom were on the top floor accessed via a narrow wooden staircase. The room was large, albeit with sloping ceilings, but that's where the good news stops. The bedside lamp didn't work. The bathroom tap was totally loose and waggling around. The shower had a non-slip mat that was all brown and unpleasant underneath. There was a used bar of soap in there, too, and a half-used shampoo miniature. The towels weren't great and the whole experience left me feeling less than fresh. Finally, to cap it all there was no hair dryer. I guess I got what I paid for. This was a cheap stay, after all. But while I loved the bistro I wish I'd paid a bit more and slept somewhere nicer.

Horrible hotel - Noisy...
I have booked the room '1' which is on the first floor. The quality of the room is disappointing me. Carpet never cleaned, bathroom condition is less than average. Noisy corridors. Especially on Thursday night they had some quiz till 11pm, really loud. Some other guys decided to extend the party upstairs and they were really loud till 03.00am. The hotel staff didn't do anything to calm them down. The only positive was the food. The chef is really good and he prepared always very tasty meals. I spent 4 nights in this hotel but never ever again... This is kinda cheap hostel for more expansive rates. :( Spiderwebs were everywhere in the room and the quality is the mattress was horrible. Cheap stuff everywhere. The bed sheets were a size smaller than the bed etc...

I was very disappointed with the room allocated. The beds had no mattress protectors. A roller blind did not work at all. The tv did not work & wasn’t replaced although we did say we wouldn’t be in the room much. The hot water was hit & miss. The warm shower turned into a cold shower. We did have mattress protectors put under the sheet when we complained & were given free breakfast for the 2 days we stayed. The bed mattress gave no support & caused a lot of pain.

Dirtiest Hotel I have Ever Stayed.Rooms 1 & 3.
Walked into the Bar area all looked ok..checked in no problem...got to the room and could see the fitted bed sheet in a twin room wasn't covering all the mattress...so took photographs of the stains/mess then lifted the pillows and yuk the bedding was dirty possibly not changed...the cold water tap wasn't connected properly to the basin....my god read some bad reviews from 2016/7 and management said issues were being addressed but obviously they don't invest and it is the poor staff downstairs who get the brunt of all complaints.I complained and told them the best thing they could do with the mattress was burn it.We were moved to another room the spare bed/mattress cover was stained in there as well...the carpet was disgusting...the shower was hanging on and dare not adjust the height... to top it off couldn't get the TV to work. All the bedding was a stain hiding brown as were the carpets which failed completely and would hate to think what it would look like if it was white bedding and lighter carpets. The bathroom facilities could have done with a deep clean. The sash windows are not double glazed so being on a busy road it was very noisy. Very much doubt this Hotel is aimed at couples or families. The Hotel rooms are just plain grotty. If the management take up the challenge take your own family and stop there for a night without forewarning.

Nice hotel, close to Kelpies and Falkirk Wheel
Arrived at hotel, was made to feel welcome from the start. Checked in and was shown straight to room and told about facilities. Nice big size triple suite room and nice bathroom with shower. Hotel situated close to Kelpies and Falkirk wheel both about 10-15 mins away. Nice cooked breakfast and coffee. Definitely would stay here again.

It was a very enjoyable trip the hotel was well situated for shopping pubs restuarants and the local atractions such as the falkirk wheel canal walks and the helix the kelpies calander estate dollar park etc. The town is also a good base for exploring further afield with two rail stations with excellent regular services to edinburgh glasgow stirling callender perth pitlochrie and inverness the hotel was very good with a good liveley bar and bistro with entertainment at weekends and quiz night on thursday and well frequented by locals it also had a restuarant which was reasonably priced with quite a good menu selection friendly efficient staff all in all a very enjoyable trip

Compact room but to be expected as I’d booked a single, basic facilities but clean and tidy, windows opened straight onto Main Road and even when closed did little to reduce the traffic noise. Parking is in pub carpark with limited spaces so Luck of the draw if you get a spot. My room unfortunately was directly above the bar with live music until midnight, so had to remain in bar drinking until they finished . Very disappointed after leaving though as I left a charger in a wall socket as I left. Despite ringing up when I got home and realised I’d left it & explaining exactly which socket I’d left it in, and the room not being used, it couldn’t be found. My own fault for leaving it behind but when only staff had accessed the room and it couldn’t be found it’s a little concerning.

Convenient town centre hotel but noisy.
Booked room with 2 singles as only room available on booking site. On arrival given a double room across the back road above a shop. Room was large and clean but access was through a back door and up a damp smelling stone circular staircase. Tea and coffee facilities were in a shared kitchen area along with a fridge etc. The worst thing was the noise from the main road outside the windows all evening on the sat/sun night and monday morning from about 6am sunday morning wasn't too bad. In the main hotel i believe fri/sat night are noisy as bar is open till 1 am with loud music. Breakfast was good and generous portions but the trek across from annexed property at 8am would not have been pleasant if weather had not been so good. Lots of stone steps up and down at both ends in wet conditions could be a problem. Overall the hotel served its purpose at a reasonable price but i can not recommend and would look elsewhere if ever i was in the area again.

Great little hotel, it's above a pub so tad noisy, but few beers help you sleep. Parking at rear, ideal location,room good, shower perfect, beautiful breakfast, excellent value. Will stay again...

Where's the Chef?
Warm welcome when I arrived, was upgraded to a double room in an annexe, which was clean and comfortable, however I would question the quality of the housekeeping, but have definitely seen poorer cleanliness elsewhere. However, arrived for breakfast to discover there was no chef! Was told by the sole member of staff that "the boss" was late but would arrive soon to cook my breakfast. There was one other guest already waiting for his, and after a fifteen minute wait, the breakfast arrived...never experienced this before, felt like Fawlty Towers!
