"Check in was okay. Hotel has no elevators for a two level hotel. Stairs only. Tuff on dragging suitcases and two toddler up stair to the room. Bathroom had a cigarette smell, room was clean. Hallway smell like paint, fan was running but still strong. Smell went away after the next more. Parking lot had lot of litter laying around. "

"My husband and I visited in celebration of his 40th birthday and we were there two nights at the beginning of December. If you love Christmas like I do, coming during the month of December means you get to see the inn decked out in all its beautiful Christmas finery! LOVED the decorations throughout the communal spaces. The tavern and restaurant on site are wonderful, and the food was DELICIOUS. The staff was nothing but welcoming and warm and the epitome of small-town charm. Everyone we met were friendly and kind. We're already talking about when we'll visit again. Only downside of our king-sized suite in the historic inn was the sink drained very slowly. I let the front-desk staff know on our way out so it could be fixed for the next guest in the space. Other than that, the suite was lovely and perfect for our stay. One last thing: so much is within walking distance from the Country Inn. Many restaurants, coffee houses, shops, the Berkeley Springs State Park and the bath houses. We walked everywhere and most places we got to in 7 minutes or less. That close in proximity."
