"A Turkish person said this was a 5-star hotel, which definitely is not. I'm not a hotel snob, and thought this was a very clean hotel but there were minor things like the way things were fixed were slabbed with caulking or not straight. Also, our bathroom shower drain backed up the whole 3 days we were there. The rooms smell like cigarettes even in non-smoking rooms. The food was pretty good and overall, the rooms were clean. Hotel staff was nice. This hotel is also located inside a university...

"We are visiting Turkey from New Zealand and discovered Tirilye by chance. We cannot recommend this quite beautiful historic town highly enough - it is a hidden gem. Mazi Otel is a lovely quirky hotel, very clean and comfortable. The host, Deniz, lives in the house opposite the hotel and was available at all times to ensure we had an enjoyable visit. And he makes a great coffee to start the day."
