Lake Erie Lodge is an old, reconditioned motor inn. The only thing it has going for it is its close proximity to Presque Island State Park. The room was clean, the furniture cheap and worn. No chairs at the seat or table, no hangers and towels thin and like sandpaper. The price at the property is higher than Expedia after they add on service fee for using a credit card, which they require you use for the deposit. It was the only reasonable option during the eclipse, otherwise would not stay there.

First, the pluses: Erie is an easy city to get around and the Lodge is well situated. Reasonable price. Clean. Comfortable bed. Minuses: When I arrived circa 8pm to check in, the room wasn't ready (previous occupant had checked out late). When I did check in and was putting my stuff away, I found one piece of clothing and several books (including a Narcotics Anonymous manual) of a the previous tenant. There was no place to hang my clothers. Next day: no coffeemaker in the room, walked to the local McDonald's came back and the card key didn't work. No one in the office (no coffee in the lobby --- my experience is if there is no inroom coffeemaker, there is some in the lobby.) A sign said to call: my phone was in my room. The people who run the place are very pleasant and seem genuinely nice but not terribly competent at running a motel.

Toilet didn't flush we couldn't shower because the water wouldn't drain, the heater was broke and the door had a 2 inch gap in it. It was frigid we had to put towels in front of the door to keep the cold air from coming in. I have around 20 pics of how disgusting this hotel was. Also we were suppose to have 2 queen beds we got 2 double beds

We stayed on Saturday 12/9/23. We had no heat in the room( they moved us) the second room, shower didn't work, room was dirty the door had no seal around it so cold air was coming thru. and there was no staff available to check us out on Sunday morning. I had to call Sunday afternoon to make sure I got my deposit back. We won't be back.

Great stay! The room was clean with a few minor damages (dent in the wall from the doorknob, etc), but management was aware of the issues so my deposit wasn't affected by them.

The lobby was cold and dingy. The room next to me was very noisy, I could not complain to the front desk because my room did not have a phone and when I went to the front lobby, no one was available. I was also charged an extra 50 dollars.

I am not saying this is a top dollar place but you really cannot beat the price, usual availabilities, and the fact that the 3 women working during my stay were absolutely amazing. Housekeeping is nice and helpful, beds were comfy everything was pretty much really clean. Really the ladies, especially the one from Morocco (I believe that's where she stated she was from whenever I had asked about her very pretty accent), they extended my stay for a night despite some minor issues and even waived a few fees out of the kindness of their hearts which I could not thank them enough for. They were very sweet and very professional, taking the time to even explain things. They absolutely deserve a shoutout for their services and I would happily stay here again!

They refuse to refund a night atay that we were bot staying and never once cleaned the room when we were there. Had to get tp from cvs next door. Would not recommending any one to stay there. They are not friendly ppl and thats what you get they are cheap and there is a reason for that. They need the health board called on them

Worst in Erie
It is the worst hotel I have ever been. When I got to the front/reception nobody to talk to. A worker who was doing housekeeping yelled out to me from the upside that I would have to come back later. There is furniture stored in the front as you walk in. The room had burnt sheets on it. No Iron or even hangers.

Kept our room deposits for no reason!
Manager will not give back room deposit. He won’t give a reason, he won’t even talk on the phone. We had 3 rooms, a month ago. He won’t return the phone calls, and when he answers, he says “please hold” and then the phone disconnects. My mother is 73 and on SSI, and she doesn’t need cheated out of her money.

They are quite obviously in the process of updating this property. That being said the pros were: clean, comfortable bed, working fridge and microwave, decent tv, new flooring and some furniture, very friendly staff. Cons: funky air freshener smell when you first walk into the room, no hairdryer or coffee maker, no breakfast as they were working on that area, no pictures on the wall and a gross couch in the room that looked like it got picked out of someone’s trash. They obviously had recently redone the bathroom but some idiots were using the tub as an ashtray (no smoking room) and left burn marks on the tub. All in all I give the owners kudos for trying their best to upgrade the property.

I won't say bad but expected little more, like bathroom door was sticking at the floor during operations, main light in the room to be changed. The room needs a cloth hanger. We stayed for one night. These issues were not so hurting for us. But will think twice if we would like to stay for more than a night in that property. I think these issues are easily rectifyable and then the property will be a very nice place to stay.

Our new favorite hotel
Love this little hotel. The manager and his wife treat you like friends. The customer service does not stop at check in. They are great with the kids. The rooms could use some updating (our overhead light didn’t work the entire week we were there), and they would never give us more than 2 towels at once, even though there were 4 people in the room. But we brought some of our own towels and it wasn’t really a huge inconvenience. They didn’t have a coffee pot for the room, but we bought one at Dollar General for $12. I’ve stayed there twice and will probably stay again just because I love the location (next to Waldameer, Presque Isle, and in the middle of several restaurants and stores), and I love the atmosphere. We sat outside until late every night, talking with the neighbors and watching the kids run around in the grassy area. The area also felt very safe. The nightly price during the week was very reasonable.

Loved this little hotel! It could use a few upgrades, but the atmosphere and the friendliness of the owner and his wife were outstanding! They knocked on the door daily to ask if we needed anything. They interacted with the children we had with us and made them feel welcome and important. We will be staying again next year!

The staff upon check in was very nice. The red of the experience was terrible. The room smelled like cigarettes even though it was non smoking. It looks like they are attempting to remodel the place but definitely poorly done. Very dirty and extremely overpriced.
