Ghost Motel
I didn’t have a chance to stay. After having my booking for over a month I found out the morning of our stay that the Motel 6 is closed and the location is no longer affiliated with Motel 6. Enter a scramble to find alternative accommodations through hotels.com customer service, who said they made accommodations at another hotel. Great. Except we arrived at the new hotel only for them to look at us like we had two heads each because they’d been booked out for weeks and had a) no available rooms for that night, and b) no such reservations under my name. Then cue another hour or so of trying to find a place and ended up snagging the last room in a town 30 minutes away. In speaking with hotels.com customer service they have claimed zero responsibility or accountability in this, fully blame Motel 6, and as of right now I have a pending charge by Hotels.com for a room that didn’t exist… even though they said hotels.com doesn’t charge the card, Motel 6 does. Lesson learned on third party vendors, skip the scam and book direct, folks.
