Lovely location, good food and good service from all the staff but disappointing niggles tainted the stay. No hot water on arrival after a long drive and day’s walking, little heat from the radiator, broken handle on the shower unit and noticeably loose flooring in the bathroom. The hot water was resolved before bedtime and the manager did all he could however far from ideal. This said if the issues are addressed it is a nice place to stay.

Firstly, this host does not make it clear that all accommodation is above ground level and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Bathroom was in need of a wipe down as dust in bath , shower control fell off , towels had clearly seen better days ruff and washed out . Shower looks good as rainfall and additional shower ,however you needed to climb over the old style bath , again no suitable for anyone with a disability. Bathroom not onsuite and cold. Room welcoming but basic , no chair to sit on . No water in room . Decor and furniture clearly old and shabby sheek No visible breakfast menu. Asked for poached eggs waitress took order and returned to say not available! Breakfast when arrived was poor quality, 1half cooked fried egg,1 sausage ,1slice of bacon, 1teaspoon of cheap beans, cheap potatoe scone hard as a brick.Horrible black pudding and some other unidentifiable slice. Cheap bread white no option for brown bread . Clearly do not source from local farms . Option was coffee or juice , coffee white or black ! Such a pitty as located in a beautiful village location.

Town Square room x
We had the most wonderful overnight stay at The Crown and Kitchen and we stayed in Town Square room. From our request for early check-in being granted to the service to the fact that we were allocated a table for dinner despite the pub hosting a private function, our expectations were exceeded. Incredible room, incredible food.. I couldn't recommend it more! Thank you all so much. Leah and Chris <3

Bedroom floor had not been cleaned. Masses amount of hair belonging to previous occupant ! The close proximity to the high speed railway line was a bit of a surprise because the cottage was not actually next to the hotel.

Booked for an overnight stay. Ideal for our needs. Modern, clean room. Pub attached serving good meals and lovely breakfast. Right on main street, very central, although not a lot in town.

We checked in at the restaurant. The employee, who seemed like he was the owner was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a small house around the corner from the restaurant. The house was nice and comfortable. Our only disappointment was that the washer in our house did not work. However, my wife made contact with the owner and he allowed us to use the washer and dryer that they use to clean the linens for the apartments. Overall, a great experience.

We stayed in the Fountain room, while it doesn't have an en suite it has a private bathroom just across the hall. The room and bathroom were spotless, the bed comfy and the breakfast was great. The staff were amazing, the chef even ran down to the local shop to get gluten free bread for my toast! We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and family and would love to stay here again.

Our room was lovely. The pub and outdoor courtyard was great. We enjoyed the quaint village of East Linton and attended church a short walk away. It was more expensive than similar places we stayed in Scotland

This nice little cottage could have been good if it had been properly maintained. The hot water was not working properly which made getting a shower impossible. The toilet seats in both shower rooms were broken. There was a really scabby leather chair in the living room that had obviously been chewed over by dogs. It was also right next to a noisy railway line.

The room was very comfortable, clean and well furnished. The only issue I had was that evening meals were not being served as it was a Monday evening. Breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly.

Absolutely loved our 2 night stay here in the Wynd room. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the meals (tea and breakfast) were delicious (was talked into a full Scottish brekky with Black Pudding and Haggis and enjoyed it). The room was spacious and comfortable and the the bar below was great also. Thank You to everyone at Crown and Kitchen for the lovely hospitality.

Really welcoming hotel. Staff were lovely, roon was great and food was excellent. Only thing to know is that East Linton is really noisy, especially in early morning. And the church bells toll at 8am.

Really enjoyable stay and helpful staff room was modern and spacious. Meals reasonably priced. The full Scottish breakfast was outstanding top marks to the chef by far the best breakfast ive had rhe pleasure of eating 5 stars alround

This isn’t a hotel but rather a small townhome with two bedrooms. The squeaking floors and fast train that runs literally above made sleeping impossible. Might work for sound sleepers.

Lovely stylish pub with rooms
This was the last night of our four night trip staying at pubs each night (which is unusual for us). Our room was out of the pub and in a building just next door. We were on the top floor so lots of stairs, the room was lovely and had a gorgeous bathroom with a super shower. There was no ability to black out the light as the room and blinds were white but the decor lent itself to the quirky building, we loved it. We had our evening meal in the pub and it was lovely, the menu was quite limited but I know they were short on staff, as are so many places at the moment. The pub decor is delightful and breakfast was the best of our trip. Parking was on the road close by which is fine for us. This was a lovely little pub, staff were great, good food and a delightful room. What's not to love

This was advertised as having on-site parking and having an electric vehicle charger on-site. Neither are true, parking is on road and electric charger is some 500 yards down the road. Unfortunately the private bathroom was across the landing and the water was freezing cold in sink, bath and shower. On a positive note the breakfast was brilliant

We had a lovely stay in our cottage, it was fresh, clean and well looked after. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had a lovely breakast at the hotel. The location was great for exploring the area and a working EV charger in the village was a nice bonus. Would highly recommend

I stayed in one of the cottages. Very modern, spacious, comfortable. Owners were very friendly indeed and staff in the pub/restaurant were nice too. Would definitely recommend and book again when in the area(short drive to North Berwick/better value for money-if a little quite)

Charming pub guesthouse in a lovely village
Comfortable, charming pub guesthouse in a lovely village. The pub itself serves excellent food and the breakfast is fabulous. I think most rooms are en suite, but the room I stayed in was not. Robes were provided to cross the corridor to the bathroom, which is not shared, and this was fine for me. All in all, a lovely place to stay and from to explore the area.

Hidden diamond with a fantastic restaurant. Local oysters and lobster on the menu and a great steak for good prices. Room was clean, good condition and well furnished. Only issue could be parking as it’s a small village; but I didn’t experience this. Will definitely return if in the area

Lovely stay!
Beautiful little hotel with a lovely owner. Room was gorgeous and i thoroughly enjoyed my time here, even during covid. All precautions/social distancing were followed etc.
