A bit of sound transmission between rooms and windows that made it difficult to sleep depending on neighbor or outside activity. Clean and comfortable otherwise.
Great location and nice bar downstairs! But the rooms were really small with no fridge and no place to put "extra" things. If you want to just go back to your room to relax for a bit before heading out again, it's not the space you'd want to do this. We had no view and a constant humming outside the window.. sounded like a drone, never did figure it out!
I loved my stay at Motel One!. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I felt completely safe ,as a solo female traveler. Being my first time in Edinburgh, I loved the location of the hotel, it's close proximity to all the main attractions, great restaurants and coffee shops
The location was perfect for walking the city and night life. The shower was spacious and had very hot water. Plenty of outlets. Very nice customer service with baggage storage for before and after your stay. We were in the attached/second building and our room was very cold. The thermostat did not seem to work but the bed and room as a whole was very comfortable.
The location couldn't be better. The hotel is beautifully designed with lovely details. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Staff is kind, helpful, and welcoming. Because we were returning to the hotel and had a booking, we were able to store some luggage there when we went away for a few days, which was particularly helpful. Breakfast was great and the dining area is especially nice.
The location was superb! The lobby gets congested in am while breakfast is being served ! Front desk personnel were gracious when we checks in but later seemed cold.
Perfectly located in the center of all tourist sites. Pleasant staff. Clean rooms and facilities. Construction outside hotel makes the exterior unattractive.

The best thing about the property is the location! A few minutes to the Royal Mile and a few minutes to the Train Station. I stayed 4 nights, and only requested room servicing on one day. The staff didn’t show up till late afternoon when I had already returned to the room having been out all morning/afternoon. So didn’t get the desired room servicing.
The bathroom had a towel rack but in the shower, so had to move the towel to keep it dry when showering. Also no waste basket in bathroom. Moreover, the bathroom door was not hung properly so it slammed shut every time it was opened. Probably noise loud enough to disturb nearby guests.
Location makes for A . Service and design dysfunction/inattention a C.
This is a lovely hotel in a phenomenal location. It's convenient for Edinburgh's old town and within 2 minute's walk of Waverley Station. We had a room overlooking the street and railway but we didnt hear a sound from outside.
The bed was really big and comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. The curtains were adequate although not completely blackout.
I didn't pay the extra for breakfast as I felt it was expensive. That said, I would most definitely stay again.
Very friendly and warm staff. The location couldn’t be better. The rooms were big and clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Nice hotel in a great location. The staff were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We had a great corner room overlooking the city. Easy walk to the Royal Mile, Castle, and other attractions. Would absolutely stay again.
