The bar and restaurant were clean and of a good standard. However, our room was tiny, especially the bathroom. It was definitely not four star standard! We went out for five and a half hours on the Saturday, having left the sign on the door to please clean our room. When we returned to the hotel it had not been serviced. We reported it to reception and eventually it was done in the early evening. The same thing happened on the Sunday! We settled for a housekeeper on the corridor just making the bed. The breakfast buffet was a reasonable choice but much of it was dry under the lamps. My husband had a nice meal on the Saturday evening while I was at a reunion. I was disappointed when I saw the swimming pool as we had intended to have a swim but chose not to.

One of the nicer Holiday Inn properties we’ve stayed in with regards to lobby and breakfast. Room was comfortable and clean-ish. Price was quite high, imo but I think Edinburgh in general is pretty pricey when it comes to hotels. Parking was on site.

Good location if you want to stay out of the main tourist area but there isn't a lot in the area for visitors. Takes about 20 minutes to commute by local transportation. Hotel staff was very attentive and friendly.

We stayed in the hotel for the Edinburgh marathon and was convienent as it was just outside the bus stop and a 15 minute walk to the tram stop. It was just next to the zoo too which was an added bonus. Rooms were super clean and modern with free coffee and tea (which was refilled). When we had come back from the marathon, the staff had laid out a table full of snacks, water and juice with a sign congratulating us on running the marathon - which was a really nice touch. We also used the hot tub the next day which was really clean. Thanks for a great stay!
