The property is an old building/hotel. It is centrally located to Old Town. Very walkable.
Rooms are small. Depending on where your room is located, you will hear the garbage trucks removing trash at 6:00am. In the evening the glass recycling bin is also next to the dumpster and you will hear many glass bottles being deposited as staff members finish cleaning up.
The room we are in, has an exit sign over the only door into our room that lights up in green and is so bright the whole room is illuminated.
The room is clean, but very tight. Staff depending on whom is working isn’t always friendly or helpful.
Clean room, staff were very helpful and friendly, handy for other city transport links and close to fountain park for eateries and activities for families, loved the pantry
Staff very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was near a vibrant part of the city, but it was not noisy. The pantry had everything I n ended for breakfast and snacks. A wee gem of a place
Lovely updated hotel with great lounge areas and complementary snacks! Very walkable to the Royal mile. The walls were a bit thin and you could hear guests in the hallway. Otherwise, I’d highly recommend!
The hotel staff were amazing and gave great recommendations for where to have dinner. The room itself was extremely clean and updated and modern. The only thing I wish that I could change was that either the room was a little bit bigger and or that the shower was a tad bit bigger.
I spent two nights at the Grove Hotel and it was a very comfortable stay. It's a 20min walk to the heart of all the Edinburgh highlights and there is lots of pubs, restaurants and shops nearby.
The hotel is comfortable and stylish. I stayed in a comfort double which was very small but perfect for a solo traveller.
I was impressed by The Pantry - they offered smoothies, sparkling waters and quality teas and coffees. The fruit and snacks are available 24 hrs and in the morning there was cereal, yogurts, and pastries.

Staff were lovely and helpful. The pantry with tea/coffee/smoothies was very nice. The room was a little bad. Couldn’t sit on the toiket as your knees hit the wall and the toilet seat lid would fall ontop of you. Toiket toll holder fell off the wall and hand held shower holder also fell off the wall. Bed was clean and somewhat comfy.
Everything about this hotel is honestly just so so good! As soon as we arrived, one of the members of staff was really sweet and gave us some really good recommendations of where the best places are to visit in Edinburgh. All the staff were all very lovely!! The lounge, patio and pantry were all such great additions to our stay but the bedroom was 10/10. I’ve never slept so well in all my life - the beds were soooo comfortable and the shower was also great, with lovely smelling shampoo and soaps provided!
Not a bad word to say about the hotel, made our stay in Edinburgh masses more enjoyable
The sink was blocked, I did report it but it wasn’t fixed so couldn’t use the sink to brush teeth wash hands etc so had to use the shower which was difficult at times. The mattress was sunk on one side so one of us kept falling out during sleep. location is perfect for a nice walk into the city with good shops near by.

The hotel itself was lovely & in a great location. However on the 2nd night of our stay there was a leak right outside our door. Part of the ceiling fell through with a lot of water damage. I spoke to the hotel but they had no one to come out to fix it that evening nor could they move us because the hotel was fully booked. We had a very restless night with my daughter scared and the constant dripping right outside our door. Hotels.com reached out to the hotel on our return but they refused to compensate for the 2nd night. It’s a shame because otherwise we had a nice stay. I understand that things like this can happen but I think the hotel could have offered a partial refund as a gesture for a terrible disturbed nights sleep.
Had a lovely stay room was perfect and the snack area was a great extra! thank you

Close to walk to various locations around Edinburgh. Bed was soft but comfortable. Shower could do with a anti slip mat. Complimentary bagels and croissants at breakfast although choc au pain were hard. Coffee machine out action so had to boil kettle. Free bottles water available Awkward heavy doors to open on floor 2 leading to our room. . Signs are needed when using stairs as not clear how to get to reception. Nothing on door or wall as guidance. Staff all.very helpful. Would stay again
