Hampton Inn & Suites Tucson Marana
10/10 Excellent
"This is my hotel of choice in Tucson. It is clean, lovely, and properly staffed with very helpful and courteous people. The breakfast is good, warm, and plentiful. The rooms are quiet, clean, and tidy. And the location is such that you are on the edge of town but near the interstate. You’re still a hop, skip, and a jump away from everything (food, facilities, shopping)…but you don’t have the noise, crime, and the homeless mentally ill and/or fentanyl addicts that you’ll see plenty of a few miles down the road. When we have to stay at a local hotel, this is the one we choose. So when our AC crapped out quite suddenly, I didn’t even consider any other location. I stayed at the Hampton Inn while waiting for the new AC to be placed. I was given a free upgrade when I got there. (Yay!). Everything was wonderful with the exception of one thing: the mattress. It sincerely felt like a 4-5 inch workout cushion on a plank of wood. I really have no doubt they would have moved me when a room became available if I had only mentioned it to them. That is on me, though. Nevertheless, the people are so nice and everything else was so clean and lovely, I will still choose the same hotel again and again. Next time, though, I will promptly check the mattress and will quickly let them know if it’s a bit too worn for the wear. I’m attaching a view from my window. Such a beautiful view! Sorry I didn’t get a picture of the room."

White Stallion Ranch
10/10 Excellent
"White Stallion rocks! 🐎 I just came back from White Stallion Ranch and had to leave a review immediately. I was only there for three days (mid-August, yeah it was effing hot!) but I had such an amazing experience that I wish I'd booked a full week. To be honest, I was scared of getting bored. Damn, I was wrong. They have tons of activities. We did the slow ride, yoga, massages and magic show... We used the pool a lot, the game room, fed the horses and cuddled Ranger the cat probably too much. Before dinner, they offer appetizers in the common room which makes it very easy to meet and mingle with other guests. The property is gorgeous, the food is really good, the staff is super nice and welcoming, and they do not overcharge (in my humble opinion). Lunch was only $20 and dinner $30. Juice cans were $2. The room looked exactly like the pictures on their website. It was really cute cowboy style and comfy. And clean! Hmm, what else? I think that's it. Just go."

"This place was absolutely beautiful and I wish we could have stayed an extra night! The staff is incredible and friendly. The pool was an extra touch ! We loved it and the breakfast in the morning was the perfect touch. My kids explored the property looking for bugs and I really enjoyed my time in nature. I will be back soon!"
