"Non Mandarin speaking traveler on ambitious itinerary in China — The receptionist helped me find way back on taxi when I got lost walking back from restaurant in ancient city. The next day, she stayed up late and checked that I was back before going to bed herself. Just how a family member would. The other receptionist on arrival day connected us with driver Jim who took care of our every travel need and going as far as finding vegetarian food for us. We felt cared for. Convenient location, clean wonderful property, home made breakfast and comfort of home in foreign land. It was a wonderful and memorable stay. I will go again!!"

"What a privilege to stay in such an old property with so much history. The room was a lovely size, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty too. We asked if we could have a train station pickup at the last minute and Alice sorted one for us. Thank you to all at the hotel, they were all such lovely people."

Also the dynamic Manager Crystal who supported with all the necessary arrangements. Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to explore the area."

"Lots of thoughtful touches. Well appointed room, jasmine tea leaves with a tea service in the room. Extensive personal breakfast, with good coffee and choice of Western or Chinese option. Great location in the middle of ancient city - everything is happening outside your doors and yet peaceful courtyard. Free Pickup and drop off from train station was a nice service with courteous attention. Overall well run hotel and well appointed. Parting gift of intricately paper cut motifs.’"

"This is by far the BEST hotel we've stayed in in Datong and in China! Its also the BEST Holiday Inn as well. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The room very confortable and accessible.. Quite hotel too... we stayed a week and slept so well. Its easy to catch and Uber or walk around the neighborhood. Safe and clean area as well, but then most if not all China, is safe. The breakfast Buffet has to be the best ever! So many choices to choose from! We would definitely stay here again and probably will on our next trip to Datong!"

"This is not an hotel, but rather a bed and breakfast - a very nice one!!!! Rooms are very nice, nicely decorated but a bit awkward configuration. Includes a private small pool and a big breakfast! The best thing it’s the concierge 24/7 service. People and staff are always looking into how to make your stay better!!! They are great!! Quite new and taxis may note yet know where it is, but easily found in maps."
