"It is an all-inclusive that charges for most of the amenities, food, and drinks!!! The rooms are in poor condition, the AC makes terrible noises, the bathroom didn´t drain, the night show was bad, and I couldn't sleep because of the noise in the room. The food is bad."

"Property was nice. When you arrive for Bourganville, they drop you off at the adjacent Grand Romana and you shuttle or walk to this resort. They are part of the same with the Bourganville being the adults only. La Grand seemed like it had more amenities, was larger, so if you don’t have to be adults only, you may want to consider that one. The food was good but we could not get reservations for several of the restaurants or they were very late ones. In retrospect, Be best to make reservations in advance on-line before you even get there. Pools were good with poolside service and swim up bars. Quiet pool and activity pool. Activity pool area had its own stand alone bar too. Beach was nice area but the water is not very conducive to swimming due to rocky bottom. So pack water shoes if you plan to get in. Our room was nice and quiet but we could not check in for 2 hours later as they had to set the room for 2 beds which were requested in advance. Staff at that moment were not very helpful. They could have at least had someone orient us to the grounds, activities, etc while we were killing time. We basically had to figure everything out ourselves such as the fact that there is a kiosk in the lobby that you can use to see what’s going on each day and attempt to make reservations. The crowd was a mixed bag of mostly Americans and Europeans who were mostly distant but friendly enough. The staff was mostly friendly but did not speak much English. "

"Where to start?! The staff was incredibly rude. We watched the front desk staff stand there elbowing each other over who would acknowledge us. They were rude and completely ignored our simple requests for the basics. We struggled to get a glass of water or cutlery throughout the entire trip. Our fridge didn’t work. The air conditioning went out. The tv didn’t work. The toilet flooded. When we visited the A La Cart restaurants, the waiter forgot our children’s food so we sat for 45 minutes while they tried to scrounge up their mac and cheese. By the time it came, our meals were stone cold. No apologies came and they were visibly annoyed to serve us. Our second restaurant experience resulted in all four of our meals coming completely wrong. We all got meals we didn’t order. This place is in horrible condition. Dead bugs and what looked like blood smears on the walls that were left there for the entirety of our trip.Cracks in the ceiling, dirty, and unkept. Our sheets were never changed and when we asked the front desk for towels, it took hours! Don’t waste your money here! I wouldn’t stay here again for free!"

"This property was likely very beautiful many years ago when it first opened and the highlight photos were taken but it has clearly been neglected for some time. Neither the rooms nor the property were as clean and sufficiently stocked with necessities as I would expect. The beds were not comfortable, WiFi was spotty, and linens seemed old and lacking freshness. The only upsides were the ac worked well and the few staff members we encountered tried to be helpful. If you do still decide to stay here and you want to order food for children, do not order the pizza. You will be disappointed. Other food options were okay. Thankfully, we only stayed one night. My family and I were very disappointed so I want to make sure future Expedia users know what they’re getting into. Expedia should require property hosts to post photos within the last year or two."
