The entrance is small and the staff were happy to take our bags as we arrived early and were quick to check us in (just before 3pm). The city taxes were calculated upon check-in. The room was small, dingy and not properly cleaned. I could see a makeup brush and a considerable amount of dust around the fridge area. It was humid outside and the air conditioning did very little to take the edge off. The shower and toilet were fine and the bed was comfortable enough for us to sit on whilst we booked alternative accommodation."

"The main problem was at check in. They have a system that scans one's body passport, which is probably a good thing… when it works. At previous APA hotels I’ve stayed at this system has never worked. When this happens, the attendant simply does what needs to be done at their terminal and all is okay. A slight delay but no big deal. Not this time. Again, as expected, the system didn’t work. The young man kept trying it, over and over. He phoned people and tried again. And again. I tried to just remain calm. But after ten minutes I was frustrated and impatient. FINALLY, he gave me a form to fill in, which I did, and he gave me my room key. Such a pain for what should be a simple problem. He needs some training."

"This hotel was very close to Hakata station, so if you are arriving via Shinkansen, you won't have to roll your luggage far to get to it. The entrance is located on a side street, so taxis and cars can pick you up easily. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. "
