I will definitely come back! The staff are so caring, helpful and kind. They go out of their ways to be sure you have everything you need, whether that’s in your room, poolside, by the beach or in a restaurant. I had a club villa, with a beautiful terrace with two large sofas, a table and chairs. The location was lovely and the staff could not be kinder and more helpful. It was the low season, however, and it was perhaps a little too quiet.

It was a nice and quiet location at Serrekunda. But in my first night some people held a wedding banquet downstairs, with loud music until midnight. The room was huge with super big balcony and unbeatable sea view. The restaurant served good food and I had all my breakfast, lunch and dinner there. But I needed to pay for the meals in cash in local currency, unless I could work out how to use the local mobile phone payment app, which I could not. I loved the direct access to the beach. But...

My first time at Roc Heights and I will definitely go again next time I am in Gambia. Omar and his team ensured that everything was done to keep me happy in the hotel and safe outside as a solo woman. Oh man, where do I start? Lemme start with Mariam, the ever helpful, cheerful receptionist. She is a credit to Metzy. Give her a raise, I say! Baboucarr was another receptionist who went over and beyond for me. Barrow from Housekeeping kept my room squeaky clean. Senegambia Beach Hotel came recommended by a family member and it didn't disappoint. It served as a perfect base to explore this incredible country. The hotel is set in a perfect location on the beach with the jungle spilling into the grounds, there's daily visits from native monkeys, vultures, tropical birds and the odd nile monitor. Staying at Hypolink was the best decision I made. The entire Hypolink team including the proprietor, every member of staff, and all guests who were there between 18/12/19-5/01/20 contributed to one of the best holidays I have had.
