We stayed 4 nights and highly recommend Hotel Varusha. Everyone we met from checking in to our departure was friendly and helpful, even using a translation device to chat about the fascinating history of Veliko Tarnovo. The location is in the Old Town and in a good location for sightseeing, cafés and restaurants. Our room had a lovely view over the atmospheric orange -tiled rooftops to green hills beyond. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. We didn't use the kitchenette facilities downstairs, but saw they were well stocked with cups, glasses etc. We hope to return one day, as we really enjoyed our stay.

We loved the ambience of the hotel. Everywhere you looked were bits of history from photographs and paintings to the antique furniture. The room was comfortable with all the amenities you could need and the staff was friendly and attentive to all our needs. It was a FABULOUS find!

The hotel is very well located, has amazing views and is very nice. The reception girls are not nice at all... they get kind of angry if you don't speak its language.

Beautiful hotel! Clean, esthetic, friendly and conveniently located to the fortress and a short walk to the main road. This hotel literally has the best towels and breakfast pastries ever ! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Very nice room, hotel, frendly stuff

The ensuite room was clean and cosy with a lovely view of the garden. Breakfast was delicious and healthy, made fresh each day. When we requested dinner, this was also delicious and at a good price.The location was close some lovely towns and only 2.5hrs from Sofia. Wifi had good connectivity. The hosts were very friendly, had lots of suggestions for places to see and where to eat. They catered to us perfectly. Looking forward to coming again.
