"Hotel IJ is a gem of a property deep in Basque country. Set in a gorgeous rural environment atop a small village and surrounded by hills and farms, it is the perfect country getaway. The building is as stunning as the photographs and the rooms have an elegant\ vintage charm to them. "I was travelling with my family already for 2 weeks and stayed in several different places, but this was certainly the one where we were received in a way that made us feel like home. The attention and kindness of the owner of the property were superb. A unique place, with a wonderful landscape and great welcome. We truly recommend!"

"The hotel is OK for a one night stay in order to take the ferry next day. The hotel was clean and the room was comfortable enough. Unfortunately it is right next to an oil refinery which polutes the atmosphere. On a very warm night we were unable to leave the window open because of this."
