Desert Shores Trip

When we arrived we were informed that our reserved King bed room had been changed to a double Queen bed instead. They said there was no hot water in the King bed rooms (!), but the room we were getting was recently renovated. There were signs throughout the property that they were renovating, including working on three elevators at a time during the day as well as a whole wing on our floor. The renovated room was nice... HOWEVER, there was minimal water pressure in the shower, so that it practically dribbled out of the shower head. (The sink seemed fine, so not sure what the problem was.) I could (and did, just to prove the point and take video) stand in one half of the walk-in shower fully-clothed and not worry about getting wet! That is ridiculous, especially for a casino that allows smoking where non-smokers would want to wash the stink off of themselves. Further, the renovations made to the room did not include what sounds like an ancient air conditioner (which at 100 degrees at 9 pm, we left on continually)... the fan noise (white noise) was bad enough, but once the condenser or whatever actually makes it cold kicked on and then off, it woke us up many times throughout the night. I love the cost and friendliness of the Orleans, but am getting to the age where I can't sit in a smoking casino very long anymore... at least the poker room is less smokey. Would've stayed at South Point instead, but they jack their prices up every time they have a horse event.

It was all good but the rooms was hot so it was uncomfortable.
