Lovely, very high end hotel set in stunning surroundings.
Staff are very attentive and friendly.
Room was well appointed, comfortable and quiet.
Great bed.
Food was lovely (best chowder in NE!).

Mark and Lyn were somewhat surprised to find we had arrived in Meredith by bus! Not to be recommended. Taxied up to their charming hotel. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, homemade granola, yoghurt and raspberry couli, followed by poached pears and Mark's soda bread. Lyn took us down to the lake for a trip and collected us in the afternoon. They could not have been kinder or more concerned that we enjoyed our stay. We loved it.

I don't usually review, but the Ballard was such a lovely experience! It's a beautiful, historic inn, and our room was comfortable, nicely furnished, and spotless. There are a couple of comfortable sitting rooms for the guests to use, and the view across the trees down to a lake from the veranda was lovely. IT WAS MORE DIFFICULT TO LOCATE THAN WE EXPECTED AND NOT WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF SUNAPEE. BUT IN A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION LOOKING OUT FROM THE TOP A A HILL ACROSS TO MT SUNAPEE.

The Enfield Shaker Museum is a very unusual hotel but quite a good experience nonetheless. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable (possibly quite hot in summer as there didn't appear to be any a/c), but there are no staff on hand and none of the 'normal' hotel experiences and extras. They do self-serve tea and coffee in the morning and that's about it. After 5pm the place is yours (with the other guests). For a Dartmouth parent hunting accommodation on a busy weekend it is a very good value...
