Cuyamaca Rancho State Park Trip

I always enjoy my stay at The Sofia.

The standard room is very very small. We upgraded to a villa room

The location is great - walkable to many restaurants and to the trolley and marina. The hotel is super cute and we loved the theme. The staff were friendly as well. However, we experienced some issues during our stay; the bathroom sink faucets looked dirty. There was black gunk around the faucet handles. There was also something wrong with the handle in the bath/shower. We couldn’t run a bath for our kid because the handle would slowly slide towards the hottest setting if no one was holding it, making the water too hot. We also had a leak in the fridge and came back to the room after a day out to find a giant puddle on the floor. Thankfully we didn’t have our belongings there. My friend’s room had a bathroom door that wouldn’t slide close and they had to have someone go in to fix it during their stay. Overall it was a decent place to stay, and our kids loved the decor. But would probably steer away next time because of all the inconveniences encountered here.

Great staff attention and amenities. The room was clean and comfortable, making it easy to sleep in.
