Croton-on-Hudson Trip

I love the location to be near my daughter in Murray hill. I didn’t like that I arrived at 9:30am on a Tuesday and they didn’t let me check in early even though rooms were available. She said it would be an early check in charge. I usually stay at Bonvoy properties and that would never happen. The room was fine. The bed and pillows very comfortable and the halls clean. Lobby nice sitting areas and friendly staff at the door. Overall good

Great location for Broadway shows and Centralized activities. Very nice place to make your hub

The hotel has a great (and, surprisingly, quiet) location on the 42 Street, right near the super busy and hectic Times Square. There is a very cool store, a sort of a small diner next door, open 24h, that offers a variety of foods, beverages, snacks, etc. They have a nice sitting area upstairs and a big screen TV there - we just happened to watch for 20 minutes one of the World Cup soccer games there. They make fresh sandwiches, bagels, etc. for a reasonable price, esp. for NYC. Across the street, you can find a Starbucks store, Walgreens (we got a few bottles of water there). There is a subway stop nearby. You are near all Broadway shows' theaters and plenty of different restaurants. The hotel itself has a nice, old world ambiance in the lobby, with its furniture, an old (still, working!) phone, etc. There was a cozy bar area in the lobby, with a TV. The AC in the room worked great - we could get a good night sleep and it was nice to come to the cool room during the 100 plus degrees heat wave in early July. The pillows were very comfortable, too. The hotel staff was very friendly, accommodating, easy to talk to and courteous, from the housekeepers (Barbara (originally, from Poland) and another one whose name I forgot (she was from Ukraine) to Emma at the reception desk and Margaret, the front desk manager. They let us store our luggage when we arrived early on our first day and on the our last day, as still had time to explore the city before our departure.

The hotel was OK, but for the price level it does not hit the four or five star level. The location is the prime attraction here, very much in the center of Midtown near all the major spots. Rooms are very clean. The elevators can be slow. The hot water is good when it comes up to the proper heat level. Sometimes it took a while to get there. There is no place to plug in your electronics on one side of the bed. On the other side there is. They need more plugs, etc. No robes or slippers. No art on the walls of any kind. The coffee on the third floor is a nice amenity, but the milk used in the lattes and cappuccino may seem a bit off. The restaurant on site is very small and it’s a hit or miss proposition when it comes to quality. The staff is good, but does the bare minimum

European like rooms. No amenities. No coffee or tea in rooms. Very young crowd.
