The hotel Nippon was lovely. One of the old type hotels which has been refurbished. The lounge area was nice, lift was clean,staff helpful. The room was average size bed was comfortable. The view from the window wasnt appealing as it was residential and area not that good. However a 3 minute walk from the hotel took you to beautiful gardens, temples etc.

We arrived to the hotel at about 1030pm, the hotel lost our booking ans our room wasn’t ready till about 1145pm when the cleaning stuff were cleaning the room. The room was ok, we understand the hotel is a beautiful and very old building (137 years old) but small thing could have been don’t to make the room look better, windows were dirty, window blinds didn’t work very well, and towels were ripped. Staff were friendly, food was ok, one morning we had breakfast buffet and the second morning it was menu service. Hotel is places in a good location, close to bars, restaurants shops and other amenities.

The property was within walking distance to both One Galle Face and City Centre. It also has a convenient cafe with quite okay selection of “short eats” for quick snacking. Only drawback was when we requested for house keeping, they did throw out the trash from the main room but left out the one in the toilet. Towels were also not changed as well as the daily toiletries supply though we didn’t need them but it’s standard hotel practice unless I missed out on the request when needed fine line print. Over all an okay stay.

Good Location in Colombo 2
The staff were very helpful when approached for advice and directions. Breakfast was good. Traffic noise was evident most of the time. Busy street outside. TV worked well. Had trouble with internet access. Could not connect to the secure portal. Staff tried to help but to no avail. Used the unsecured portal but in a limited manner.

The property was almost empty so when we arrived they refused to give early check-in @ 7am but wanted charge if wanted so asked to come back at 11am. When we went at 11, there was no room but the guy at the reception found another room. When we went to the room, surprise!!! The bathrooms were almost see through. When complained and mentioned that we will checkout, room was changed to a lower category.

Good hotel, apparently the oldest in Colombo, within short tuk-tuk distance from Colombo train station. Check-in was quick and easy. Room was spacious,with large balcony overlooking the road, and one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in. Nice restaurant with sufficient choice for breakfast and choice of a la carte or bar bites in the evening. The bar bites were particularly good with good sized portions. Decent bar room available too. All staff in the hotel were very pleasant and helpful. Within easy walking distance from Galle Face, Twin Towers, Clock Tower and Pettah. Clean hotel. Though we only stayed 2 nights we'd definitely recommend this hotel for either short or longer stay.

Underwhelming
Overall the Nippon did not meet our expectations. All standards could be improved. Paid for transfer from the airport and was then charged extra for tolls, paid online for room but at hotel was charged extra for taxes. Breakfast was slow, cold and a strange combination of food. Overall you could get better value for money elsewhere.

The nastiest restroom I ever seen ! For the money it is really really not acceptable by no means. I never excpected from a hotel with a good name and history to have unclean bed sheets, dirty pillow covers and nasty toilet bowl. Will never come again.

Quaint
A lovely, colonial style building, (we had a balcony room, which was massive). Nice spacious room with a huge, comfortable bed. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. He gave us plenty of information about places to go and he helped us with various bookings. The food options were a bit limited, but we did most of our eating in the city anyway. Good location if you don't mind walking, about 700 metres to Galle Face, same as the Dutch hospital.

Happy enough on our stay, hotel location is very convenient as is it quite near where our meetings are held, the buffet they have in the morning is very good, really enjoyed it. The staffs are very courteous, friendly and helpful. Their rate per room is very reasonable, and hopefully when I come back will get a good rate again.It was indeed an interesting experience visiting Sri Lanka.

Not a good Hotel
The room is very small. No Room Service at all though they have a Bar and Restaurant and a cafe. The entire toilet has glass wall and glass door. not Suitable for Business Travelers and very uncomfortable. No proper breakfast and nothing for Vegetarian. No proper sound proofing for the room and the hotel is located on a busy road. Very noisy Hotel Staff do not have any information like taxi or any locations nearby.

Bra boende för priset. Trevlig och gästvänlig personal som gav oss en hel del tips. Sköna sängar. Eftersom hotellet ligger i en storstad och bredvid en väg kan det låta en del från vägen. Okej frukost.

立地は落ち着いた場所で徒歩でもトゥクトゥクでもすぐに移動できる便利なところです。すぐそばに教会、モスク、お寺があり、礼拝など様々な時間で宗教音楽が聞こえてきます。そういう体験が楽しめる方には良いですが、静かに過ごしたい方は嫌うと思われます。アメニティは石鹸・シャンプー・ボディーソープのみ。エアコンはコントロールできなかったです。客室清掃の責任者らしき人がカギを無理やり開けて入ってきたので、普通は大クレームになると思いますが、スリランカスタイルなんだと思えば気にならないという事で我慢。

Otel tarihi bina ,çok güzel yenilenmiş.Resepsiyon çalışanları ,oda hizmetlileri harikalar.Otel çok temiz hergün oda temizliği yapılıyor ,havlu ve çarşaflar değiştiriliyor.Kahvaltısı çok iyi yöresel yiyecekler ağırlıklı olsada lezzetli ve doyurucu.Cadde tarafındaki odalar biraz gürültülü ancak idare eder.Otel her yere yürüyüş mesafesinde.

가격대비 쾌적하고 편안한 호텔
위치도 나쁘지 않고(월드트레이드 센터, 갈레 페이스 비치/시내/기차역/버스터미널 등이 뚝뚝으로 10분 이내) 가격 대비 깔끔합니다. 다만 현장 지불보다 숙박 어플을 이용하는게 조금 더 저렴한 것 같아요.

清潔に保たれたホテル
繁華街から少し離れたロケーションで、周辺はあまり信号機が設置されていませんでした。良く言えば、ローカルな生活を身近に感じられるホテルだと思います。 ホテルの建物は新しくはありませんが、清潔に保たれていたと感じました。 朝食はホットミールコーナーと卵を調理してくれるコーナーがあり、充実していました。特に、ホットミールにローカル料理が必ず1品含まれていたのは良かったと思います。 唯一残念だったのは、空港までの交通機関がタクシーに限られること、およびタクシーにはクレジットカードが使えない事を宿泊者に積極的に伝えていなかった事です。 チェックアウトの祭、深夜便での出発だったので、タクシーの手配を依頼しても、「それは宿泊者が個人で何とかするのが前提」という回答から始まったのは非常に残念でした。結果的に、担当の方が工夫して手配してくれたので感謝していますが、第一声が否定から始まったのは担当者個人の責任ではなく、フロントマンを教育するホテルに改善の余地があると思います。 次回の訪問時には、ホテル全体から「何でも対応しますよ」という雰囲気が感じられる対応がなされることに期待します。

狭い、汚い、従業員の態度が悪い、冷蔵庫が無い（有料）、低層で道路が混んでいるので煩い、食事がまずい、ドライヤーが無い、レストランが小さく朝ご飯がセットでも食べられない、クリーニングに時間がかかる、サービスや施設の割に高い

Good location. Small rooms. Super hot. They do not have western coffe in this hotel for breakfast. Not Nescafé either, bring your own.

Vi havde en enkelt overnatning på hotellet, inden vi skulle flyve hjem, rigtig fint og hyggeligt hotel, dog en del støj fra gaden, så ørepropper ville være at foretrække. Morgenmad helt ok og fint udvalg og personalet flinkt og hjælpsomt.

Good location for transit with railway
Good breakfast. Easy to reach from Colombo Fort Railway station. Can recommend as a transit-stay on your way to see the rest of Sri Lanka.

Pænt hotel med venligt personale.
Hotel nippon er et pænt sted, det er smagfuldt og nyrenoveret. Sengene er rigtig gode, værelset og stedet pænt rent. Morgenmaden var lidt kedelig, deres kaffe er meget tynd. Trafikken uden for hotellet er konstant og meget støjende - det gør det ikke bedre at vinduerne ikke er isolerede - det føles, støjmæssigt, som at sove midt på gaden.
