We had a fantastic stay in the Sapentia. We were there for a week and got to know the local area well and built a nice relationship with the staff too. The Hotel is situated in great spot, some of the rooms have great views towards the river. The only issue is parking. The location is on a tiny street adjacent to the University. If you can, don’t have a car. If you do, prepare to have to move to about a bit potentially. The hotel helped us a lot and we managed ok, the car remained, miraculously,...

This room certainly has a wow factor. My kids loved it immediately (10 & 12), and so did I. We loved the hot tub in the room and the sauna. The loo by the bed was a little tricky to navigate especially after the Vinho Verde from the nearby restaurants, which were excellent value.

This is an extraordinary place just like the photo. I was greeted with sparkling wine and cake and offered the whole bottle the following day. It is in a very challenging place in old Coimbra so you need to be reasonably fit although another lovely lady walking her dog helped me out the next night when i was lost

Great location for visiting Coimbra. The staff were really helpful and the bonus of free parking was great for us. We enjoyed lovely views of the city while having a drink on the terrace.

Nice and friendly staff. Nice breakfast.

Great location on river but close to city centre. Easy to find, large underground car park.Rooms well equipped and comfortable, choose one with a pool view. Staff excellent. Didn’t use restaurant as lots of good places nearby.

Rooms are a really good size for the price. It was extremely clean and the kitchen had everything you needed. Rooms had their own air conditioning which was helpful on a 37°C day!

I did have a good time at the hotel. At the center of the city, Coimbra, you could almost go anywhere. The train is nearby so if you need to get to the hotel then, you are not that far from Hotel domus. As it was in the center of Coimbra, I was not expecting to be quiet. It was noisy, but as a solo traveller, it did not affect me in anyway. The hotel facilities were cleaned, affordable. Breakfast is not included in the price, as it is something you can have apart by paying 5 euros, which is...

Very efficient check in and out, clean room, breakfast good, staff very friendly and efficient throughout the hotel.

Great experience! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from start to finish. The local area is great with lots to see and good restaurants. And the room was clean and wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Very good customer service

A well placed hotel for visiting the city. Lovely art deco designs are everywhere, and the hotel has real character. Arriving during a yellow warning heatwave, the air conditioning in the room made for a pleasant night’s sleep. Breakfast was quiet varied, with a hot food option in the form of bacon and eggs. The real highlight was the help we received from the hotel staff. They were engaging, and able to answer our queries about where places were, and how to get about using the public transport...

Spectacular views in a great location. Guests should be aware that they are likely to be woken up by church bells and cheering students. For me it was a bonus, but it might not be for everyone.

Fantastic stay with a great location. Helpful staff, and fantastic place for the price.

Fantastic house, loads of history. Beautiful surroundings, lovely friendly hosts.

Breakfast for one could easily feed 4 the young lady on the desk was so helpful and explained all of the places to visit easy parking out front and apartment was spotless

We had a little difficulty on arrival because there was a no entry sign across the road leading to the village and we went past it. We eventually found our way and had to swerve round the barrier. Had we been told about this, we would have found the village more easily. The once abandoned hilltop village has been sensitively restored and is now mainly reliant on tourism. Our house was typical - a large picture window with views over wooded hillsides, plenty of solid wooden beams and...
