"We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Caribe in Merida, Mexico. Location is very convenient to the cathedral, the central square, and all the downtown areas.The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the breakfasts and swimming in the rooftop pool. The property is an old catholic high school converted into a hotel years ago. The courtyard is very pretty with two Mamey fruit trees and a fountain. The rooms could use some freshening (paint) and cleaning especially the tile headboard area behind the beds. "

"The location was great, right on the Paseo. The hotel was generally clean. We were given a wheelchair accessible bathroom, which we had requested, and that was helpful. Unfortunately, the water never got hot and the shower flooded the bathroom. The cafe downstairs did have excellent croissants, though. "

"Clean room staff nice but never brought things when requested, ice, extra towel only 2 in the room and we were 3 people. Very disorganized check-in. Ice machine broken, snack machine broken, room service only 2 choices. "
