Connemara is in a great location- central for most things. Staff are lovely, very helpful, but restaurant/ drink service painfully slow. Food generally good. Hotel is a beautiful building but is looking a little tired in places, needs a bit of an update. However, I would stay again, but these things could be improved.

We had a lovely stay at Taj Connemara in one of the heritage rooms. The staff here are excellent, they were very attentive to our needs and provided a wonderful service. The property itself was extremely clean. We were there with our six month old baby and the hotel provided steamed vegetable purées at our request free of charge every day of the stay. We had lunch at the restaurant once and ordered from the in-room dining a few times and the food was always delicious. There were a lot of mosquitoes in the lobby area and the room, which was disappointing at a five star hotel. The bathrooms in the room could also do with an upgrade. The second door in the shower wasn’t there which meant the bathroom was wet after a shower. Having stayed in a few other five star hotels in India, I thought this property lacked the wow factor but a great team of staff from concierge to reception to food and beverage and laundry teams make you look past it. Thanks to Vijay and his team on the second floor for keeping our rooms clean.

Taj Connemara - living off the glory of the past
Connemara was once an Iconic Hotel. Today it is a relic of the past, like on old dowager. The wardrobe doors dont shut, the doors creak, water is not hot and response to complaints is pathetic. Even one star hotels have better water heating capability. While the common areas have a nice aroma, rooms are musty. But the only consistent thing is the quality of food, which is outstanding.
