Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will help get your Chille holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you bring the right gear. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good book. Next, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, any daily medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items differs between air carriers, the general rule of thumb is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like bows and arrows, and objects that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and firearms, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Choose flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to bring a jacket in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- The result of prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long-haul flights. Lower your risks by drinking water, keeping your feet and legs moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
