"Absolutely a GREAT location for being right in the middle of ALL of the action in downtown Santa Fe. The entire property has such fun history and the rooms are so uniquely decorated and very confortable.
Having said that, good luck with your rotation of staff. I am always kind to Front Desk Clerks because they have a rough job. This young man gave me no welcome, but just asked for my name and sniffed at the fact that it was a “third-party reservation“. I find that reaction. Interesting, because without the search engine, advertising, and availability of choices on Expedia, I would never have found myself at La Fonda on the plaza. My stay was definitely worth the price, but the pool and hot tub closed at 4pm over Memorial Day weekend, and though it’s not a big deal, the shampoo container was empty in the shower…. Which is only difficult when one is in the shower!
I also called for room service to order up breakfast for the next day, but they didn’t pick up the phone then OR the next morning…disappointing, but I enjoyed a bakery next door!
Parking is on the street (all but impossible with the crowds of people walking the streets of fun shops and restaurants. The hotel offers $30/night valet parking…which is really your only choice!
