Abajo Lodge

Abajo Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"I am rating this five stars because the price compared to the amenities warrants it. There were cookies, mints and coffee available at check-in. At 6 the next morning I was able to get in the office and get free coffee for us. The beds were comfortable and the room was rather spacious. There was a weird whooshing sound with the toilet every few minutes. We could hear that the room next to us had the same issue. It didn’t bother me, but it somewhat bothered my husband. The Mexican restaurant across the street “Gustavo’s” was very good and reasonably priced. There was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room which was very convenient. I would definitely stay there again on our yearly trip from Phoenix to Colorado."

"When we initially arrived to check-in. One of the front-desk staff helped with a massive bus full of people to assign them their rooms and they arrived after us. We asked if we could get our room and told us to come back later as she had to assign the rooms to the massive bus. We had already been waiting for 20 minutes, which includes time before the bus got there so we were irritated that we were pushed aside. When we asked for timing on when to come back, we didn’t get an answer for that at all either. Overall, she did not have a good attitude and seemed frustrated with us, granted she looked like she was stressed with the bus full of people but regardless an apologies would have been appreciated. My partner and I had a very long day of hiking and wanted to check into our room at the allotted time in our reservations but were denied. When we later came back, another staff member greeted us and was very helpful and polite, and checked us in within 2 minutes. It made us wonder why that couldn’t have happened the first time. Overall, we really enjoyed the Big Horn Lodge with everything it provided, however this initial service instance felt disrespectful. Would recommend going regardless."

"The property was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. It was a very good location, short drive or walk to shops and restaurants. Relaxing by the pool and gaze at a beautiful red rock mountain was so relaxing and pool was large and refreshing to cool off after a long hike or excursion. The rooms were great, I loved ours with the separate living room area and small kitchenette."

"The small cabin was perfect for our quick weekend trip! There are two king bed rooms and the loft upstairs, which would be perfect for kids. It is right off the highway though and parking can be a little tight depending on how big your vehicle is. 4 stars because the bathroom could’ve been cleaner - I found an eye shadow palette and hair ties in one of the bathrooms. Overall, was a good stay and I’d stay here again."

"It was a good stay. It was a little tough as by time I checked in and showered after a long day the TV didn't work and the front desk closes at 11pm. Otherwise it was a great stay."
