"Our stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown Houston was extremely disappointing. The hotel feels very old and poorly maintained. The rooms are incredibly small and did not feel clean, which made the stay uncomfortable from the start. One of the biggest issues was the lack of hot water. When we called the front desk, we were told to let the water run for 30 minutes before showering to see if it would warm up, which is completely unacceptable for any hotel. To make matters worse, the restaurant downstairs was closed with no notice provided to guests, leaving us scrambling to find other options. Unfortunately, the staff was also rude and less than helpful when we tried to address these issues. Instead of assisting, they seemed uninterested in resolving concerns or improving the situation. Overall, the experience was frustrating and far below expectations. There are plenty of other hotels in downtown Houston—I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else. Just don’t."

"There was hair behind the bathroom door and mould on the ceiling. Bed was so hard. Posting said soundproofed room but our one was not, you could hear all the road noise. We booked for two nights and then they rang after night one to see if we were checking out."

"Overall, we had a good experience. However, it was not advertised that they are under renovation. The rooms were redone but if you took a closer look things were just covered up, not fixed. Cracks in the walls and shower, old tvs, rusty shower, etc. It was also super muggy in the room and the only way to fix it was turning the air down so it was freezing. Breakfast was held in a conference room but the set up was the same. Tons of construction outside as well. It was okay for the purpose we were there for, nice at first glance but kind of dingy if you took a closer look."

"Room was fine. Just every morning at breakfast their landscaper was using a gas blower that ruined the whole experience. Very loud. No common sense to not have that done or switch to electric so there is no noise. Also area is not walkable to any restaurants. Sorta in a bad spot. "
