"I was slightly disappointed with my stay here. While I did notice and understand that they are doing some renovations, I was unimpressed by the state of my room when I walked in. The room is spacious and not bad, but it was very clearly not cleaned well prior to my arrival. The inside of the fridge was gross with spills and food remnants. The floors seemed dirty and so was the bathroom. The mirror wasn't even clean and had splatter on it. There was no bar of soap or hand soap bottle which I found to be odd. The bathroom window was open when I came in and it was freezing in the room. The window also didn't have any sort of latch or lock just slide close. As a young woman staying alone I didn't feel the most secure to be honest. They also had just installed a keypad lock system which is fine, but I noticed there was no secondary latch for the inside of the room which I feel like is a safety concern as well. The girl who checked me in was friendly, but overall this was an odd experience. I never have much expectation when staying at a motel, but I feel like this lacked some very basic necessities in any sort of hospitality stay. I am not sure if there was breakfast or anything included here but I was given no information at all. I am glad that the TV was working. I would highly recommend the following things to improve customer satisfaction with their stay: -Providing hand soap and towels -Better cleanliness -Locks on windows and doors -New mattress or topper -Extra sheets"

"The room was clean The staff helpful Amenities were great Outside chairs not cleaned or usable Breakfast was OK but not enough quantity offered By 9 a.m. items were already gone when opening at 8 Dinner was better Not enough choices in menu No gluten free offered No healthy choices except salad Rooms are not sound proof Woken up in Room#2 by the owner talking given its close proximity to the desk and coffee/tea station Bed was very uncomfortable Very old, hard and squeaky"

"Stayed in May. Dated motel room, but clean. Basic toiletries included, bathroom small, but sufficient. Bigger fridge to put in basic groceries. Shared kitchen in lounge was nice, lots of items included to cook meals if you want. There are also lots of tables and seating areas to eat at. There are also cabins on the other side of the motel rooms, but they don't have showers, only 2 piece bathroom I believe. Shared shower facilities are just across the cabins. Watercraft activities like paddleboat, canoes, kayak, and life jackets offered for free. Its a very small lake so not hard to paddle around it. Hot tub is a plus, fits up to 6 people at a time. We didn’t use conversation pool beside it as it was too cold to use, maybe consider heating it for spring and fall seasons. Location was good, about 20 minutes to town of Bancroft and other sightseeing spots around the area. One thing is the resort should put a sign to indicate the place as well as lights because the entrance is hidden and can be hard to spot at night. They have fire at night at 2 fire pits. The resort enforces no loud noise after 11 pm, which was nice if youre looking for a quiet and peaceful spot. Not sure how rowdy it would get during the busier summer months, as the couples that were on the resort during the weekend we stayed at were pretty chill."
