I was actually quite surprised by the gorgeous landscape of Caprock Canyons State Park on the southern edge of the Texas panhandle. One of the many stunning views along the Haynes Ridge trail. The ascent to the ridge from the canyon loop trail is extremely strenuous, but then the trail is easy going along the top of the ridge with eyefulls galore. Take the ridge trail to where it meets up with the upper canyon trail and turn north to go past the fern cave and the last dance hoodoo on your way back to the north parking lot.
One of the most beautiful state parks in Texas! This is just off the southern fork of the upper canyon trail.
The road through the park is a five mile scenic drive with gorgeous views in every direction.

Compared to Memorial District, the Museum District was up to par in terms of the art & area. Will definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

WiFi didn’t seem to work, parking cost an additional $70 for an overnight stay. Wish that was communicated before hand. But very clean, peaceful, and convenient.
