The hiking trails were okay but there are many places where you can leave them and go exploring. This picture was taken from an off-limits cave that we had to climb to; you can see the stairs of the path though.

In Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio, Rock House is a twenty-five foot tall cave, on the side of a tall sandstone cliff, with seven natural Gothic-arched windows lighting its two hundred foot length.

Conkles Hollow is a state nature preserve within the Hocking Hills region. Its sheer cliffs of Black Hand sandstone rise nearly 200 feet above the valley floor.

The deep, cool gorge, which is only 100 feet wide in places and is considered to be the deepest in Ohio, has numerous waterfalls cascading over its sandstone cliffs.

The lower trail through the gorge is about 1 mile and is accessible for the most casual of hikers. The rim trail is a couple miles long and is a bit more strenuous.
