"Absolutely magical. Pictures do not do Malekus Mountain Lodge justice - it's truly so special and lovely, a work of art not just a place to stay. Roger and Rosey were kind, attentive hosts. The location was beautiful. We had wonderful breakfasts on site and a fantastic dinner just 600 meters away. With only 7 rooms and an intimate feel, this would be a perfect place for a family reunion, small destination wedding, or friends trip. Do know going in that the rooms are small and intimate, and there is no air-conditioning. However, the climate was temperate and the rooms and lodge are well-suited and comfortable. We loved everything about our stay - except for that we didn't get to stay longer! Already hoping to come again!!"

"We loved our stay at this property, we were shown around by Angie who seemed to be the animal whisperer. Wherever we went we saw all sorts of animals, monkeys, sloths, toucans, humming birds and so many more. Itās a beautiful paradise and we loved every minute we had here. We were sad to have to move on when we did. Thankyou so much for looking after us so well."

"The nicest people and wonderful hosts. I mentioned that we would be celebrating our daughterās bday while we were there and they knocked on the door with a huge slice of chocolate cake and a candle and sang Feliz cumpleanos. It was the sweetest thing and so special for our family. It was such a kind gesture and it set the tone for the rest of our time there. Breakfast was a lovely production. We entered the dining room and they just started bringing out entree after entree, fruit, eggs, gallo pinto, pancakes, jam, fresh juice and yogurt. It was a genuine Tico experience. The hotel is on a side street and walking around you get to see everyday life. It was fun to people watch and explore. The grounds were lovely. We saw a blue jeans tree frog."
