"Staff was very helpful. We had a late check in and they were there to assist. Breakfast was a plus we were not expecting and having a restaurant/bar onsite was very convenient. One downside was that the wifi was not working in our room; but, they did state in advance that not all rooms could reach the wifi because of how old the building was. For a small historic town the room was perfect. Our room had a great view on to a courtyard."

"Could not recommend this accommodation enough - a real hidden gem! Massive, secure 2 bedroom apartment in a wider bunkhouse complex which was, when we stayed, not occupied. Only 5 mins drive from Kirriemuir and so quiet and peaceful - in the heart of the countryside. Comms were great and all mod cons throughout including WiFi, TVs in all rooms and even a starter hamper! Will definitely book again. The dog loved the outdoor space which is literally ‘on your doorstep’! A+"

"The hotel itself is very nice, clean and well done. When we checked in, there was an issue with the a/c unit and instead of giving us a room that had a working ac, we found out the entire 2nd floor was without ac. We checked in late and they could've put us on a different floor but I think miscommunication with staff made the problems worse. No fans were avail either so we spent the night drenched in sweat. Breakfast was free and was excellent, laundry facilities were excellent, Parking however IS an issue at this place. Keep in mind everything closes early so trying to get a meal at a restaurant after 8 pm is not possible. We stayed two nights, spoke to the manager about the issues and they gave us 10,000 points to our membership with a written apology explaining the situation which I appreciated. Hotel needs to do a better job of informing front desk staff on issues so they know what to tell us when theres a problem. Not kept us waiting for over 2 hours to find out no fans were available. Nor was it a good idea to tell us to park in a handicap spot and then call us late at night to move the car. Proper communication is necessary for any hospitality operation to work"

"Angus is in the centre of it all: restaurants, shopping, grocery, friendly staff and locals. It is true Scotland. And why come to Scotland unless you are there to experience the culture and the people both of whom are the some of the best in the world. If you want a good local experience, stay at Angus. They will not disappoint."

"Staff of hotel and restaurant are exceptionally helpful and pleasant, as well as flexible. The location is also really perfect, with short walks to the river in one direction and all the pubs and restaurants you need in the other. Rooms are very comfortable. The only downside is that one pub under the hotel had loud live music on Saturday night that was very audible in my room. It was a nice selection and if I hadn't needed to be up very early the next morning, I might have gone to the pub to listen. It went to well after midnight. But, earplugs were pretty much enough to address the problem."

"This is a very interesting rural hotel that has excellent potential. However, a lack of staff hold it back. While it appears that the staff care and hustle, there just aren't enough of them to wait at table for all the guests, resulting in significant delays. Also, one of the lights in the room did not work (but it was late when we figured that out, so we didn't report it). The bathtub is slick and dangerous and difficult to get out of because of its depth and width (deep and narrow). I recommend a handrail on the wall to assist. There is plentiful parking at the property and the surroundings are lovely, being situated between Blairgowrie and Atholl. At night it was quiet and while the operable windows are not quite operable in our room, fresh air is available."
