"Great location! Couple minutes walk and you on the ocean. Which is beautiful! The property may not look to nice on the outside. But the room I got it was perfect. Big and clean looks like been renovated. Perfect for couples. Pet friendly. "
"We absolutely loved our stay at the swell hotel. Located in a small town, everyone was very friendly. For our first trip to OBX we were very pleased and are looking to go back for 2 weeks next year. "

A relatively laid back and quaint town, with a number of shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. Beautiful beaches, next to Cape Hatteras lighthouse, which is undergoing renovations. Hiking and camping are available on the island. Not crazy busy.

I fell in love with this area, having never been to the Outer Banks before. Buxton has beautiful beaches with the small village feel.

An authentic sweet beach town. Fall asleep to crashing waves and sea air. Only draw back those Trump is Jesus signs along the road! UGH.

We were there during off season (November) so many things were closed and the beaches were very peaceful.

Off season so not everything open yet but that made the stay even better, IMO.
"Nice place and good value. Rooms were clean. Bed was fine. Rooms aren’t serviced during your stay so you have to go to office to get clean linens/more toliet paper but not a deal breaker. Check in was easy and attendant was friendly."
"Second time staying here. All rooms are immaculately clean. Included separate living area with kitchenette, microwave, toaster, fridge, sink, and dishes, utensils provided - plus bathroom and bedroom.
Located right at the Hatteras Village Marina with great views of the boats coming and going -- beautiful sunsets over the inlet.
Several really good restaurants in short walking distance.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. We'll be back."
"Amazing location. Was previously a Holiday Inn Express turned into Condos. Could use a little updating but would totally stay there again. Staff was super nice and helpful. Great Restaurants in the area but definitely look them up on Facebook and not Google because they all post daily if they are open or not. "
