"Breakfast was excellent. Room was adequate, beverage tray had a biscuit added second day but a nice extra. Very dated I’d say, dirty clothes from previous occupant found in unit beside bed! Shower rose totally dislodged in bathroom so water came through the head not the holes, they were hanging down! Waitress from second night was very attentive second morning but staff did not make eye contact & were not friendly disappointedly so when travelling alone."

"We stayed in a twin room in the older part of the building....it was very disappointing! The mattress was the most uncomfortable that i have ever slept on, it must jave been the cheapest matress you could buy, all the springs had gone in it and lots of dips and hollows, i had to lay the bath towels on top of it to try and stop the springs from digging into me! The room was an awkward shape and a very poor layout. The furniture looked really tired and the wardrobe had a handle missing, there was paint peeling off the walls in certain areas. The whole room was in need of a revamp! The bathroom was more modern and had obviously been done up recently though. We ate in the restaurant which was extremely overpriced with very small portions, i would recommend eating elsewhere if you get the chance! The pool/spa facilities were good, although the steam room didn't have much steam in it! Overall a very disappointing stay for a supposedly four star hotel, i have stayed in far better places and would not stay here again! There is a more modern side of the hotel which is probably more up to par than the old side that we stayed in?"

"I had a great single night's stay in this very central (yet still quiet) location. Staff at the bar were available to check me in and show me to my room, which was appreciated. The room itself exceeded expectations -- great size for a single room, well decorated with storage and hanging space, free sockets, kettle and tea bags etc, and a spick-and-span ensuite bathroom with decent shower. It's a shame a cooked breakfast wasn't available but I appreciated the bag with instant porridge, a croissant and jam, juice, a flapjack and an apple. I didn't visit the bar other than to check in and out, but the room was of a high standard (making it great value for money) and I would stay here again."

"What a lovely stay, we stayed in the print room which was the perfect size, very homely and welcoming, overlooking the market square. Communication with The Dial House Team was via WhatsApp, they responded straight away and were always happy to help. The location is perfect being 30 minutes drive from some great sights. Breakfast was lovely, huge croissants. Honestly can’t fault anything. I’d definitely recommend and would love to stay again, I want to try one of the other rooms as they’re all themed differently. "

"Newly renovated rooms to a high specification, staff were very helpful from the moment I walked in the door. Great food, luckily for me it was a Sunday evening I arrived and managed to get an amazing carvery. Will definitely stay here again. "

"Very comfortable stay ,good value. Only criticism this was the weekend the clocks went forward ,so in effect had to vacate room by 930 in real time ,to extend by an hour would have cost an additional £20."
