"This was a find of the best kind. Positioned adjacent to the esplanade & overlooking the beach from a ‘cliff top’ position, it was better than I expected. I had a small double room with view from a side window which I thought might mean I would have to press my nose against the window but it was a fabulous view of the beach & Shanklin Chine area, as well as the town & beyond to the other side. I watched the sun set over the downs. Salma & her staff were friendly & kind, nothing was too much trouble. The meals, breakfast was full English with good selection of cereals plus cooked food, & dinner, oh my, I chose the sea bass which came with vegetables & it was the best I have tasted! Sunday mornings breakfast was serenaded by a Chap playing the piano, the dining area was either in or next to a conservatory across the entire front of the building overlooking the sea. I’d definitely come again. Oh, & there’s free parking on site!"

"A nice hotel 10minutes walk from Sandown Beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. Quiet location, although if you are travelling by car do not use the postcode on your satnav as you’ll end up in a neighbours garden. Hotel is part of a coach holiday group and is very much geared to those visitors. Self service full English breakfast was ok, but we didn’t see fresh fruit or yogurt and the juice and cereals were limited and set apart from the main breakfast ingredients on the other side of the room. No fridge or safe in the room. Stayed Fri-Mon early October, so the hotel was quiet. I would imagine it would be a lot busier during the summer months."

"We had a lovely three night stay at Sandhill with a nice comfy room which was very clean and with all essential amenities. Host Dave was very friendly and helpful and served excellent breakfasts. Good base for visiting lots of nearby island places. A nice unusual touch was they permit one to order/bring back an evening take-away meal to eat in their breakfast room. We would be very happy to stay here when next on the island!"
