"We had a lovely stay at the Imperial. Although on arrival we thought the exterior looked tired and was worried about what the interior would be like. Nevertheless we needed not to be concerned as it is in a very good condition internally. Our room was a nice size and probably one of the most comfortable beds I have ever had at a hotel. The breakfast was of a good standard. One tiny complaint is they I had to.pay for the car park. Overall it’s a lovely hotel, nice staff and a very pleasant stay in Torquay. "

"The hotel itself was lovely however for someone with chest problems the heating being on constantly didn’t help with the breathing and the beds were really uncomfortable "

"The 2 rooms which we have were absolutely awful….dirty and dusty and old. Walls didn’t see paint for years -some of wallpaper was stick together with tape ! We have mould and damp on the wall . My son vie from the window was bins and cars as his room was on the basement. Food was extremely basic and poor quality. Stuff smoking cigarettes outside and whole halls stink . You can hear drains all evening when people flushed the toilet. Walls are very thick so you can hear every single noise….Awful place."

"Very clean room and friendly staff. The only issue we had is that it was very hot in there and the window wasn’t in the same area as we were sleeping so it was very hot and stuffy. But apart from that it was a lovely room and hotel. "

"Spotlessly clean, best shower ever ! Everything needed is provided. Relaxing & a great atmosphere. Great Breakfast & choice. Very nice & helpful owners & excellent value for money. "We stayed in a spacious family room with a beautiful sea view. The beds were comfortable and the linens were clean; we really liked the room's location. However, we had some issues with cleanliness—the carpet was dirty, and the bathtub drain was clogged, causing water to pool during showers. Also, the edges of the tub were not clean. On the positive side, the outdoor pool was open and heated, which our daughter really enjoyed. The pool area was well-decorated and maintained. The staff were helpful and polite. As for breakfast, it was quite ordinary with limited options, but they provided cheese once we asked for it. It met our expectations but wasn't anything spectacular."

"On arrival, gave our room key and shown entrance when pub shut how to use everything etc. Put in a room which was fine but had tape down across the floor to the bathroom. When we asked for towels, Tommy apologised and said we should not even be in that room, so he helped my husband move to a bigger and better room. Tommy could not do enough for us. Breakfast has lots of choices. You just have to ask as there's no menu. Again Tommy brilliant with service and prompt delivery. A very happy chap. Id suggest a pot of sauces on the table for breakfast as its "can we have, have you got" all the time. Tommy stood out as a fantastic member of staff always polite and worked very hard.always a pleasure. Thank you Our room was very cold at night no heating on except set times so pleased that we had a hot water bottle, but we both had to wear clothes to get warm. When spoke to other residents they said the same.(No phone in the room to call anyone) Room smelt musty so could do with maybe a freshener plug in? The bathroom needs a table or some shelves as there is nowhere to put your wash bags down apart from the floor, and im not a fan of that! There could do with maybe a few more hooks in the bathroom too. 1 on the door is not enough. The room was tired, needs a freshen up on the paint and wall paper, beds comfy, lots of wardrobe hanging spaces, mirrors. Enjoyed our stay. Reasonable price too. "

"The rooms were freezing and when we informed the manager we were told that the heating was broken. It was about 3 degrees outside that night and they didn’t even attempt to give us an electric heater or anything."
