"Friendly welcome from Kate, very nice room with very large bed. We had our evening meal there, both very tasty. Good night's sleep, it was lovely and quiet, comfy bed. Great shower the next morning. Breakfast was pre-booked the night before, my husband had the eggs royale with smoked salmon and l had a sausage sandwich. The price included a cup of very good coffee each. Had a good chat to the housekeeper Kath. Pity they are moving on, but we might visit them when they move to Thirsk."

"A truly exceptional place to stay. The room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped with a lovely balcony, and the staff were very friendly. Fresh towels and toiletries were attentively refilled on the second day even without us requesting. The breakfast was delicious too, there were beautiful flowers and trees in the garden behind the restaurant. Both our baby and our dog enjoyed their time there."

"Staff gave a lovely warm welcome. Ollie and Will ran the bar with excellent customer service skills. Room was nice and spacious with plenty of toiletries etc and nice fluffy towels. Spa was disappointing, only has a steam room and a sauna, had expected more rooms after such a major refuribshment/investment. £20 for use of one outdoor hydro pool is a bit epxensive. "
