Wonderfully located on the edge of the city centre, le clos d’emile is a two minute walk from the tram that will get you anywhere in Bordeaux. It is also next to the beautiful Public Garden where you can go for a leisurely stroll.
The five room chambre d’hotes is tastefully decorated by mixing antiques with contemporary furniture and art. It is kept immaculately clean, bed linen is fresh and high quality, and the service is very friendly. Margot is a charming host. There was a good continental breakfast with cappuccinos and espressos.
The only potential improvement would be to offer the coffee, cheese, tea, wine that is available in the lounge at no extra charge (given the premium price of accommodation).
Liked: location, amenities, breakfast, comfort of bed and bathroom, variety of indoor and outdoor public areas
Most appreciated: The manager, Camille, was extraordinarily accommodating, which made us feel more like guests in a guest house than merely occupants of a hotel, however "grand" that hotel may tout itself as being.
Note that there's no elevator, but the staff will take your luggage up and down for you.
Our stay fantastic. Everything from the spacious rooms, to the breakfast and the amazing hospitality of the team at this boutique hotel. The location was great and we will stay here again!
A fabulously renovated guesthouse, full of character and beautifully furnished in a very quiet location. We were expertly looked after by Margot and Camille who were both charming and provided a lovely French breakfast along with any information we required, if you want a luxury stay without the impersonality of a large hotel this is the place to choose.
Beautiful hotel located in the center of Bordeaux. Very comfortable room. Very clean and spacious. Cecile is a great host. Would recommend it to anyone going to Bordeaux.
Ideal location right next to Le Jardin Public- beautiful gardens. Welcoming guest house with only 5 rooms- so much nicer and intimate than a huge hotel. Great breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.
While I don’t recommend Bordeaux in general, if you have to go, definitely stay at this hotel. It was quite luxurious, and the employees were very helpful. A nice oasis away from a dirty city.
A very sweet boutique hotel with 5 rooms, only on a quiet street close to the beautiful park Jardin Public, and just a 5 minutes walk from city. The rooms are large and the beds are very good.
Nice breakfast and very sweet service
Very pleased to have found this delightful small hotel for our stay in Bordeaux. The staff were welcoming, room comfortable and excellent coffee and croissants for breakfast. What more could you want!
