"It’s okay for a night or two stay. We asked for a cotbed to be set up before arriving via message. However, when we arrived, there wasn’t one set up so we asked at reception. We waited around an hour for it to be delivered and had to ask again before one arrived. Breakfast was okay, bit of a shamble one morning where we had to eat at the lobby as there were no more tables. People were waiting for tables, food, the croissants and muffins had all run out."

"Breakfast was nice, except the bacon, which was overcooked and chewy, possibly as a result of being out too long. Everything else was fine and, as it's a buffet, you can help yourself to whatever you want. The room was OK, although the bathroom is rather compact; I wouldn't want to have to towel dry myself with the bathroom door closed. These are minor issues, though. The staff were all very polite and helpful and everything was clean."

"This is a historic building, an old coaching inn. It is run well. The catering was good, and the GLUTEN-FREE options for my wife at breakfast were almost as good as for me. The historic nature of the building mean that access to some rooms may entail several different steps and corridors. They do appear to have quite a bit of wheelchair-accessible areas, though (a wheelchair lift goes up the few steps from the reception to the dining area/bar). We only stayed one night, but the service was polite, friendly and functional - you got the impression that any questions you had would be answered efficiently. There is a large area for parking at the rear (free for your stay on recording your registration). Well-placed for public transport, no need to use a car for most things whilst you are here. Right in the town centre - the main shopping area, bars and other amenities are all a few minutes walk. Our room was at the historic front of the hotel. There wasn't much traffic or other noise, despite overlooking the street, and the curtains are thick and block the light well. The room is spacious and well-equipped, though some might find some of the bath fittings a bit dated - there is a shower over the bath, but we didn't use it. Would recommend."

"I had a truly lovely stay at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and their friendly approach really made the whole experience feel special and relaxed. The room itself was spotless and beautifully maintained. Everything was clean, fresh, and comfortable, which made it easy to settle in and enjoy the stay. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into keeping the rooms to such a high standard. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The combination of such kind, helpful staff and a clean, comfortable room made my stay thoroughly enjoyable, and I would happily return again."

"Absolutely unprofessional and rude behavior of member of staff at reception in the 01 may morning. Will not recommend to deal with this hotel if that is work related stay. A member of staff was inadequate and incompetent. Refusing to provide with a room invoice, where i have paid DIRECTLY to reception on my check in, blindly arguing with people from abroad whos primary language is not English. And in fact being wrong in a situation he created."

"Currently the hotel is under refurbishment. A lot of amenities wasnt available. Including a hot breakfast on Sunday morning, which was on Saturday. Not a lot of food available on either days. Didn't have the same feel as other macdonald hotels. Rooms were far from reception, which was tricky when it was raining. Rooms were OK. "
