"Staff were friendly. I did make a note at checkout the 2nd floor where I was staying when you got off the elevator you were hit with a smell of mold like maybe they shampooed the carpets with a dirty solution…it was terrible and went the entire hallway. We had a fire alarm pulled at 2:00 am and they evacuated the entire hotel. That was a bit rough. "

"The starlight motor inn is a gem. We felt so at home from the moment we walked in, from the friendly team, to the comfortable spaces. No detail was spared renovating the space, it is truly beautiful. We agreed the first night even before we experienced how comfy the beds were that this was our spot when we travel to Charleston. The burgundy lounge is such an added bonus to have around the corner from your room. Jessie the bar manager was fantastic, the drinks were phenomenal and the live entertainment was great. It also felt so quick and convenient to get anywhere we wanted in town with a quick drive or uber, and we appreciated being away from the downtown tourist feel. We will absolutely be back! "

"Nice clean hotel. It was convenient to have complimentary Nespresso coffee and fruits on each floor. The room service was taking care about the bed and the rest of the room every day. The location is very convenient."

"Server Sylvie was amazing. Breakfast was good, Sylvie was great. Dinner just okay, but pricey. One of our dinner servers was good, but the other was rude. She called everyone Babydoll and couldn’t stop talking about how much one of us ate. She “couldn’t believe it” that we ate almost half of our shrimp and grits! “So fast! She’s excited!” and on and on. Hotel is charming and beautiful but stair carpet and room decor needs updating. Tiny bathrooms could seem less crowded with thoughtful design changes.(Replace tub with glass shower and tile entire room with light marble look porcelain. Replace toilet with comfort height model.) Almost all of the staff we interacted with were friendly and professional. Location is perfect, but parking options are too expensive. "
