"We didn’t stay long. We had a reservation for two nights, but decided to move on after the first. We had booked a tour and left early in the morning, but decided not to come back and to move on to our next destination instead. The staff was kind, but it wasn’t really what we were expecting or perhaps what we are used to.. it had more of a feel of a retreat than a hotel. Long shared tables in the dining room and very basic rooms. Can’t really say anything bad about the place, just not what we expected. Definitely would have needed s coffee maker in the room however as I wake up at 4:30 am and need coffee."
"It's a beautiful spot overlooking the mountains. The chalet was well equipped and a fantastic use of space. We would highly recommend it. The only suggestion would be to cut back the trees off the upstairs balcony so that you can see the view better.

"Rooms very small, two towels when booked for four, only two balcony chairs, had to fix toilet twice, shower virtually none existent water pressure eventually gets hot then scalds you then goes freezing.
Breakfast is bareable, place is quite run down in parts restaurants are expensive for what you get and lack any kind of atmosphere especially le jaguar."
"Don't hesitate, this place is amazing. We stayed in the 3 bed/3bath villa with a private pool. The pool was heated and so warm that we stayed in it for hours. The sunset view can't be beat better than any ocean view we've had. There were many different birds all day long. The beds were comfortable and there was so much room. The master suite was giant with a double sink and jacuzzi. The other two bedrooms and baths were off the kitchen and living room area and private. Don't hesitate--we wished we'd stayed here a week. Oh and breakfast was good, but go to the restaurant next door for a wonderful dinner. It doesn't look like it from the outside, but it has a wonderful view of the canopy from their outside eating area and the food was so good. "
"The food is very fresh and they take great pride in quality ingredients in their food and drinks. Each is a masterpiece both is taste and presentation! The staff are all amazing and the property is very clean, except for the pools which gather leaves from the trees above, but I appreciate it’s impossible to avoid. The tubing and zipline are a must try offered on the property and the guided walk and yoga beautiful experience. The thermal river is unbelievably beautiful and warm like a hot tub and clear to the bottom. You have to experience it to believe it. Lots of walking and steps but all worth it! Nothing but relaxation and beauty at this resort. The rooms are very functional and private and it was amazing seeing monkeys and birds everywhere. I would stay here again!"
"This would be a great stop for a luxury stay over a few days but wasn't worth the cost or distance for a single night stay. The sites of interest are spread out over quite a distance and it's not practical to fit in a visit to more than one of them between check-in and Costa Rica's early sundown. The rooms themselves are nice but not special, the cost/value proposition is really about what sites/activities are included and how easy they make it to book tours on the Hacienda grounds. The food was great but a meal of typical "casados" (the most economical option) ran our family of four $100 CAD. The grounds are beautiful and I would recommend the hacienda to those looking for an all-inclusive, but not a short stay."
"The casitas are nestled right in the rainforest, completely immersing you in the sights and sounds of nature. Within minutes of arriving, Jeff pointed out a sloth in a nearby tree and howler monkeys overhead—such an unforgettable introduction to the area. The sounds of the forest are incredibly peaceful (though the howler monkeys do provide a memorable early morning wake-up call!).
One of the most touching moments of our stay was how kind Jeff was to our son. He had been playing with a soccer ball he found during some downtime, and when we were leaving, Jeff surprised him with a brand-new ball and pump so he could continue playing throughout our trip. It was such a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot to us.
We also really enjoyed the farm tour and the on-site trails, which gave us even more opportunity to experience the beauty of the surroundings. Breakfast each morning was absolutely amazing—fresh, delicious, and made even better with Jeff’s homemade bread and jam.
The location is also very convenient for visiting Rio Celeste, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.
We can’t recommend this place highly enough. Jeff and Nana are truly wonderful hosts, and we would love to return someday!"
"We really enjoyed our stay here. The garden was incredible and the lovely family did a little night tour to show us frogs, sleeping birds and other small creatures and plants. In the day we saw many birds. The little side kitchen was nice, and the hostess cooked very good breakfasts of local food, much of which they grew. This was one of our favourite places we stayed in CR. "
