"Overall, I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The breakfast was excellent, and the bed was incredibly comfortable — honestly, it was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in! The room was spacious, with plenty of room to relax and feel comfortable. The location was also very convenient, with cafés, gas stations, and other essential places nearby. Everything we needed was easily accessible. The only area that could use some improvement is housekeeping. The floor was not very clean, and there were a couple of hairs in the bathroom. Paying a little more attention to these details would make the experience even better. Despite this minor issue, I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel itself was great, and the comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, and convenient location made up for a lot. I would absolutely stay here again!"

"First, the positives: location is perfect for a Portland visit. Easy walking distance to downtown and the harbor. Not far from the interstate. The staff was courteous and helpful when asked, and the property was clean and felt almost new. The negatives: for nearly mid-four figures a night there need to be more amenities. The in-room coffee was Motel 6 grade, and the breakfast as well. On our last morning, for whatever reason, the breakfast buffet, already rather skimpy, was missing many key items — no yogurt, no fresh fruit — and this not even midway through the service. As far as housekeeping goes, we stayed three nights, were away from the room most of each day, but our room was never made up. We did finally ask for some fresh towels and a resupply of tissues, and we are low-impact guests who really don’t need our bed made every day, but I was surprised that there wasn’t even an effort, or at least advance notice that we’d have to ask for housekeeping despite seeing them active in our corridors each day as we departed. I sensed that either the property was having trouble filling staff positions, or maybe they were being squeezed by their corporate overlords. In sum, for that much money I expected a little more, some extra touches that would elevate the experience beyond the basics."

"This was a great little spot- close to downtown Portland (about 15 mins). Very cozy rooms and I loved the hot tub. I want to go back in the summer to enjoy the beautiful patio (my trip was during a cold September weekend). Staff were friendly and helpful and their grab and go breakfast had tons of options."

"Cliff House Maine – Spectacular Views, Beautiful Accommodations, and a Few Areas for Improvement Overall, our stay at Cliff House was excellent. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the ocean views are spectacular. The rooms are spacious, beautifully appointed, and extremely comfortable. The bedding was especially luxurious, and the sheets felt fabulous, although they unfortunately wouldn’t stay on the bed! The dining experience was somewhat disappointing compared to the rest of the property. The food was beautifully presented, but the flavors and overall quality were average. Given the Michelin recognition and expectations, we anticipated a more memorable culinary experience. The spa itself was amazing. Beautifully designed, luxurious, and exceptionally well appointed, it was one of the highlights of the property. The spa services were definitely above average and very enjoyable, although not quite exceptional. The staff throughout the property were lovely. Housekeeping and valet deserve special recognition for their outstanding service, friendliness, and attention to detail. The restaurant waitstaff were good and attentive, while the front desk service was adequate but didn’t quite match the warmth and polish we experienced elsewhere. Despite a few areas for improvement, Cliff House is a wonderful destination. The spectacular setting, beautiful accommodations, and exceptional spa facilities make it a memorable coastal Maine getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay"
