We just spent two nights here in early October and found it a great base for exploring Maine and northern New Hampshire. The bar and restaurant were great with lots of atmosphere early evening. Breakfast was huge and very nice. The whole place just has a very nice old world feel to it.

An absolutely fabulous stay at the Old Saco Inn. Peter and Sandi were the perfect hosts and we had a thoroughly enjoyably evening with them and a few other guests in the on-site pub. Breakfast was fantastic and the house is set in beautiful surroundings and we made the most of the free canoes and kayaks - taking a row down the river on arrival.

Wow. This inn is all about the past but with a modern, friendly approach. The building is very old and the furnishings in the communal areas are in-keeping with the building. The owners and the La staff (Mary, John and Christina) are just amazing and cannot do enough to ensure that your stay is the best it can be. The bedroom was comfortable.
