I will stay here again, for sure. Caution: if you are looking for a "US standard hotel" (Marriott or Hilton) this is NOT it. It is kind of funky, as one might expect given the neighborhood (think Greenwich Village, NYC). The building had been a school decades ago and was remodeled into a hotel. I was concerned when I checked in, but after several days the place really grew on me and I enjoyed it immensely. Great cafe/bar and great breakfast buffet. I recommend highly, but again, this is not your normal US-style hotel.

Walking into the hotel was like an energizing cosy hug from Berlin! Welcoming and unpretentious bar and lobby. Lovely staff. Great large room with 5 bed options and well planned accommodation. The restaurant, courtyard and sauna were all massive bonuses that made it a perfect couple of days.

Such a nice hotel with super friendly staff. All went really well. The interior is beautiful and clean, I really liked the style. The location is perfect. It is incredibly how they have succeeded with such easygoing atmosphere while the surroundings are the most hectic parts of Berlin. The only minus is that the internet connection is super bad.

Exceptionally friendly staff. Delicious farm to table breakfasts. Great scene for mingling, music, or getting some work done in the lobby. As good or better than many hotels that are far more expensive. Highly recommend.

Michelberg is a great place, second time I stay there. Friendly staff, great location, perfect breakfast menu. Only bad thing is climate in the rooms, often too warm and AC works now and then. If you live with that the best place in Berlin.

We had a really nice stay at this hotel! The staff at the front desk were really nice and gave us a free glass of cava when we told them it was our anniversary. The hotel is really cool and trendy. They have a nice café and a nice outdoors area. The only negative thing is that they don't have ac. So the room was hot during the night. Would stay here again for sure.

Michelberger Hotel has an undeniable cool factor—effortlessly curated, creative, and still visually striking. But at the same time, it feels like it’s frozen in a very specific moment. The whole aesthetic leans heavily into a kind of retro hipster vibe that feels more 2012 than 2026. The rooms are generally clean and reasonably well maintained, but there’s a slight sense of wear if you look closer—edges feel a bit tired, and the overall finish isn’t as sharp as the concept promises. The biggest letdown, however, was the check-in experience. The staff came across as surprisingly disorganised and confused. At one point, they were in the process of checking us in under someone else’s name—despite us flagging it multiple times. It didn’t exactly inspire confidence.
