"The rooms were old and took close to 12 hours to cool down once we arrived. The balcony was not suitable for infant as she could fall under the guardrail. The bathroom was outdated and moldy. The dining options were very limited and very crowded. The music at night went until 12 midnight which was very loud and too late. The staff was lovely though - very kind and helpful. The facility just needs a major upgrade for being marketed as a 4 star resort it didn’t meet my expectations. "

We purchased the Full Board option but the food was pretty gross and the fact you have assigned times to eat felt very limiting. It wasn't ideal to plan our day around when we could eat. "Great aparthotel. Helpful staff and very Covid safe. Our apartment was not big but had enough space and balcony had nice view to sea and mountains. Everything was renovated and new looking. Modern and fresh. Bathroom good. Kitchenette locked up as cleaning of it not included, but you could ask for the key to the cupboard unit. The microwave was accessible. "This hotel is amazing. We were there out of the tourist season which was perfect. The unit has a nice kitchen so that we could self cater. We tried to get to the buffet on the first day, but it was incredibly crowded, most likely with a tour group arriving at the same time. Instead we did some shopping at the spar shop in Benicarlo nearby. Dolores was especially helpful in showing us the way into the parking garage. "

"Our stay at this hotel was amazing! Staff extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful. Our room was sparkling clean! Beautifully made up. We ate at the restaurant located in the hotel. No menu for the evening meal, but the choices given by the staff were delicious. The best thing (and all US travellers will appreciate this), you can drive right up to the front of the hotel and PARK YOUR CAR! No charge! There should be six stars for this! No driving around looking for a white line, free parking...

Fantastic hotel!
"Fabulous hotel, modern, clean, bright. We took half board; a good variety of choices on the whole, though the chips were always soggy, never crispy. Annoyingly the WC in the room was not a separate, fully-enclosed cubicle so smells could permeate.... And you had to pay to enter the spa to use the jacuzzi or sauna, so we never went. The hotel is in a great location, a short walk to the old town, shops, bars, restaurants. Unfortunately the adjacent hotel had an entertainment room which seemed to offer loud music/dancing every night, often with the doors opened. Luckily the Castillo Hotel has excellent double/triple glazing but there was still a bit of a noise which went on till around 23-23h30 most nights. But I would definitely go back, despite that."
